well done everybody

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No Bren thats not it at all.

It is the general direction of the forum now and I do not really enjoy it anymore.

I think having Quartz as a mod was the last straw for me as I do not think it is a good move if you want the forum to be as close as possible to what it used to be.

This is not a dummy spitting moment but one that has been considered.

I agree that more moderators maybe needed but I think there are people on here who are more tolerant of others beliefs who should have been approached.

So yeah I will cop on ( :? ) and bye too.

Cant say I agreed with Quartz on a lot of things but having read the other thread it does read like a group of people deciding to get together & try & create a situation where it was impossible for Quartz to become a mod. Which would be a bit playground-ish if true.

I would stress I don’t know any of the people involved so it’s more than possible I’ve just misconstrued the sentiment of the thread but that’s definitely the impression I got from it personally.

Have to also say it seems a bit ironic Quartz was being accused of trying enforce his vision of what the forum should be on everyone else when there’s been a few threads (like that one & the “Forum’s Futureâ€

some of the most well balanced posts on football matters came from him.

although as an atheist i don't agree with his religious beliefs i also never saw him trying to shove them down anyones throat, i saw people asking him what he believed (in a somewhat nasty and sniping tone i might add) and he gave an answer, if someone preaches at you then they deserve to get the piss ripped out of them, if you ask them what they believe you have no right to mock them.

Quartz
due to certain more vocal elements on the forum you may have thought at times that the whole forum was against you, i can assure you that is not the case, it is just that some of us were either too lazy or unwilling to get into an arguement to back you up when you deserved support, i include myself in this and will try to change this in future.

political debate can be a very interesting and worthwhile passtime on the forum, if someone makes things personal we should tell them that they're out of order, even if we're on the same side of the argument.

please come back Quartz
i think i've said everything i needed to say

It seems the only problem everyone has with quartz is he's jewish. He has a faith and religion and he defends it, who with faith or religion dosent?

Ive read all the Isalm/Jew threads and never posted, because to be honest I dont know enough about the saituation. I have been compelled to reply to certain posts which were quite frankly hateful/racist/predudice/biggot/whatever you want to call them remarks......none of which were by quartz.

What you will find in those threads is people trying to goad quartz into a slagging match which he dosent rise to.

I want a quote of where he is throwing his faith upon anyone?

Well said, UFG.

I'm pissed off I wasn't on the forum this evening to offer Quartz the support he deserved.

What makes it worse, is that I was stuck watching Grease 2 instead!! :banghead: :banghead:

there has been a nasty undercurrent to this forum recently, and those responsible need to buck their ideas up, hopefully they'll see that they've done wrong, act like men and apologize. if not they can fuck off.

seriously, let's get this shit sorted out and make the forum a fun place to be again.

What the hell is happening? I haven't looked at the forum properly for a while. Did I miss something?

The reason I post on this forum (and it is the ONLY forum I post on) is due to the diverse views & the way they are allowed to be put across.

I find it funny that the people who complain the most about censorship & not being allowed free speech are the very same people who are forcing members out because of their views. Smacks of hypocrisy.

Quartz was a very good poster, even if I didnt agree with what he said he never "forced" his view, its an internet forum for Christs sake, he didnt knock on my door & tell me his views or phone me up.

Sad state of affairs & i feel for the people who are heavily involved with The Gooner.

Agree.

Fucking hate hypocrites and some of the posts on this subject and the forums future smacks of it and 'dummy spitting'. All that 'we made this forum what it is' bollocks as if that makes them special. What makes this forum is the varied opinions, lifestyles, experiences etc.

In my opinion, the problem with any forum with long-term posters is they become a clique, just look at the .com site. Anyone with differing views is scorned.

Everyone has the right to an opinion and should not expect the abuse directed at them if it differs from your own.
