Arsenal in all white next season? (20 Feb)
usual thread starter. didn't hear about this speculation myself, but as i always say, 'football is bullshit central'
there are of course those who may even like the idea! i was quite partial to the old redcurrant kit myself for some strange reason i still can't quite fathom...

Shouldn't piss about with the kits. I like the retro look . The classic Brady shirt ! but thats too easy for Nike so we have to have a stripe here and a line here. Also go back to the red socks ! The away kit now is not even Yellow and Blue its Yellow and Grey ! I know officially its called anphro..anfro... oh sod it Ill call it Yellow and Grey ! The best away kit we've had for ages was the remake of the '79 cup final one a few years back collar an all ! If anyone from Arsenal or Nike actually reads these forums please remember Arsenal are classy and don't give us any tacky old kit

yes it will be tragic if the mighty reds wear white but why are you banging on about an irish connection ? you claim to be a life long fan but know nothing of the clubs history. terry neil was an ulster man who did bring in many irish players but our roots are english and scottish going back to dial square.so lets talk about Arsenal not bloody ireland.i bet you even had a half celtic, half arsenal hat when we signed charlie nicholas.

No surrender?
You are a biggotted idiot, qld. Not everyone from Ireland supports the IRA you twonk.
Arsenal's Irish conections go back alot further than Terry Neill. We have had a large Irish following since the 50's when the Irish ex-pats in the stadium started singing the "Wild Rover" which morphed nicely into one of our most famous songs. Learn your history you fool.
All are welcome at Arsenal; English, Irish, Welsh, Scot, French, African, Asian you name it. Have you ever even been to London? It's called multiculturism, you moron.
Now bring your no surrender rubbish to a Chelsea website where the chavs will appreciate it. Dickhead.
Racism is for small men with small minds.
Gooner Ed, how did this biggotted w*nker slip through???
DB10.

because when you have a church with open doors, anyone can come in.
ok. i'll let this thread remain intact for one reason. to demonstrate for anyone that wishes to read it that we don't want to go down the road of debating the irish problem. there are protestant arsenal fans and catholic arsenal fans. we appreciate that politically you come from very different places but this forum is not the place for bigotry or religious prejudice on either side. please do that somewhere more appropriate if you feel you must.
the gunners' history is littered with great irish players from both north and south of the border, both protestant and catholic. the club has links with both celtic and rangers and has played both teams in friendlies both here and in scotland.
so whilst we welcome anyone of either faith in our common bond of supporting the arsenal, we really don't want this forum to become a place where political and religious differences lead to people posting statements like 'no surrender' or whatever the equivalent is for those of a catholic persuasion wanting to have a pop at the loyalists.
yes, i know we went through the whole cyprus thing not long ago - but that was in the context of the national flag ban and it was felt that voices there had to be allowed and given the freedom of expression as the views were relevant to that particular issue. frankly, the irish question isn't relelvant to anything going on at the club right now and i am not aware it ever really has been.
so let's steer clear of it as i don't want to start deleting posts and threads every half an hour. sermon over. time to move on.

Well said Gooner Ed.
One of the great things about football is the way it can bring people of different races, religions and cultures together. Some of the best mates I have are English and Australian Gooners, all met in the pubs around THOF.
Arsenal does have a proud tradition of Irish players and fans, just like we have a proud tradition of players and fans of English, French, Dutch, African etc etc. persuasion.
Of course, the origin of this thread was the possibility of Nike p*ssing about with our away strip. I fully concur with the previously posted sentiments; just this once, let's vote with our wallets.
I will not buy a white away jersey, not even as a third strip. White is Spurtz's colour.
We are red and white at home, yellow and blue away.

All White Kit?
I am sure I have seen Arsenal playing in all white before.
Mid-70s-ish (Mancini played!), Luton away, lost 3-0 and I am sure we played in all white.
Anyone else remember this?
