It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.
I assume you meant £ sterling and not the Yankee Dolla if so it's hard to go wrong with Direct Line, I've been with them for 5yrs I drive a group 20 car and they are the best by far and they even do discounts for double policies such as spouses etc where you both get an extra 10% off dunno if it applies to the whole family or not but still excellent regardless!
Tescos and A Plan are also good and a general rule of thumb is to stay well clear of companies who purport to be specialists in certain areas of insurance such as high performance, banned drivers, youngsters and women as they tend to hope that you'll believe they're specialists and not bother shopping around, and therefore they tend to take, as Al Murray would say......... diabolical FACKIN liberties - you have been warned
Cant understand young people complaining about the price of car insurance nowadays I really cant - when I started driving in 1988 my 1st insurance cost me £1575 on an old ford fiesta Thats 21 bloody years ago and young people over here complain about paying about 2500 per year which imo is cheap if you apply the rate of inflation since 1988 to my 1575 Sadly too there are an awful lot of young dickheads driving about now in "souped up" cars and shit like that that are fcuking dangerous and are giving a bad rep to all young drivers
Despite that really fucking annoying Iggy Pop ad, swiftcover are the cheapest for me. Try confused.com to do a few comparisons. Problem is cars are the biggest killers of 17-25 yos.
Augie and Burns, you've both been in my car. And survived.
It cost me £950 to insure that fucker for a 10 month bonus accelerator as a 28 year old having my license for 1 year. Third party fire and theft.
And that heap only cost me £500.
Mr Top Banana, once she passes I've heard that if she goes for the pass plus course, which I think costs about £20-£30, she'll get about 10% off the insurance.
Or as Perryashburtongroves says, get the car in your name and add her as second driver. I'm not aware of any laws saying you can't be the keeper of more than one car?
