Is the shaver of arses the new pires?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Is the shaver of arses the new pires?

Arshavin has been brilliant so far, he is so confident on the ball which is why i compare him to bobby, better than I thought he'd be. Long may it continue.

I have been very impressed and excited by AA.

AA always wants to get involved in the play, despite being pushed out into wide positions. His vision, passing and shooting is excellent.

The quality I really like is that he looks bullet proof and just bounces back up after being fouled. He just gets on with the game.

The Taylor forearm smash would have resulted in any other player being stretchered off. Imagine Eboue getting a smack like that.

I have also noticed he is also getting more involved in directing his team mates during the game.

I think he could be better than Pires  and certainly an Arsenal legend in the making.

The only thing that is likely to hold him back is AW finding the best place to put him in the first choice XI. I hope that doesn't frustrate him too much if he is stuck out on the left.

He looks to clever for his team mates even at times. Still, I don't think we should start talking about him as the new Pires until he's delivered for at least a whole season but certainly very promesing. We said the same about Reyes when he scored in every game at the start of the 04/05 season.

True, although Arshavin has everything needed to be the new Pires.

I think Reyes was fairly lightweight from the outset - AA has already shown he's made of tougher stuff (bouncing up after tackles, playing with stitches)

This is actually want impresses me most about AA, not just his skill and vision but with his low centre of gravity, he really is quite hard to knock off the ball.

He will improve further IMO.

But Pires was a slow starter

If you look at the start Andrei has had...the future looks good..

15 goals a season......i think he can

Arshavin reminds me more of Ljungberg than Pires

I beg to differ. He will be in double figures next season. He will also set up quite a few. He will be a better player for us than Rosicky, Theo or Nasri.

I think his best position is where Cesc plays. That is going to be a pleasant problem for Arsene to sort out.

he has the tenacity of freddie but the touch, abilty, skill and vision and, as we saw against blackburn, an audacity similar to pires. so that's 5-1 to bobby
