FOR THE DADS ON HERE

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Both my lads are Arsenal. My eldest, 26, was once the youngest junior gunner at two and half months. He signed in May/June '83.

He never missed a game during '98, my youngest, 22, was once on Soccer AM Third Eye. He was caught yawning when Dixon went to take a throw in against Bradford City.

My daughter is only 14 onths old, but...

She has Arsenal socks, an Arsenal bib, Arsenal babygrows, two Arsenal cups and has been mentioned in both the programme and 'The Gooner'!

Well I don't often find much in common with you Sid but that's exactly what I did, I waited as long as I could until the Villa match at the end of the Final Salute season actually (even then my wee lad was only 4 1/2) so that hopefully he'd be old enough that it would be one of his first memories and would always be able to say that he'd been to THOF 8) and it turned out to be an inspired choice, the sun was out and we tanked 'em 5-0 :barscarf:

Unfortunately my next choice when I took him to the Grove wasn't so inspired............ the 0-1 loss to West Ham during his Easter holidays which up until Boro a few months back was still our only defeat at TNHOF :banghead: and worse still we didn't even have a goal to celebrate

Forgot to add, took my lad to his first game in '88 Easter home to Leicester. we won 4-1 but we had to leave at 2-1 'cos he wanted to get back down the pub where he was polit rotton before the game. missed one of Hayte's best goals for us.

Taught my mates daughter to raise her arm whenver we said offside, she was 8 months old. Her first word was Arsenal and we'd start with 'oops a daisy Martin Hayesy . . ' and she'd finish with 'la la la la '

Got my mate in cyprus' son to do the same at 6 months. OFFSIDE!

Hayte? Never heard of him! Do you mean Hayes?!?!

Anyhow, back to business. Took my boy when he was 6 and he's never looked back. However he's now 15 going on 25 and suddenly going to The Arse is not as exciting when you've got girls asking you out on hot dates! Of course he'll still attend the juicy games with me although I noticed on Saturday that his language is even worse than mine and at some stage I could see him getting in trouble more than me! Keep threatning to take the wife to show her what it's all about but maybe that's good subject material for another thread ( Is your other half interested in football?!!)

Chippy junior's first game was the 91 cup final. He was 5 and cried and cried and cried. Really impressed the people who had paid hundreds for me to go on a corporate jolly.   :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
