When my son Liam was 6 my sister bought him a manure clock for christmas, so I took it outside and said son this what we think of manure and took a sledgehammer to it, after the initial tears at seeing his present destroyed he was ok :o

He is 16 now and an avid gooner, get him signed stuff from football auctions too.
