I wonder what he's thinking now?

Post by All_Arsenal_1886 »

So Arsene has signed his new contract and this morning i was reading all the stories in the papers the Sun say Arsene has signed a 4 year deal worth £14m, i don't care how much the deal is worth i'm just glad Arsene has put pen to paper.
I wonder what Henry is thinking now? that's if he is even bothered but if was me i would be thinking about my reasons for leaving Arsenal, Arsene has signed, we are joint top of the league, playing well and look together as a team.
I'm not getting carried away but i think so far this season has started really well and hopefully will continue to do so, already the press are getting of our backs which is good because it proves that we are moving in the right direction.

So what do you think Henry is thinking about now?
I would love to see some of your answers :D

How weird though we sell one of the best players in the world but our team somehow becomes stonger and more together :D 8) do you think if chelski sold Fat Frank or Utd sold Ronaldo they would become a better more stronger team? I think not

Are you not pleased with our start? lets face it people said we would be lucky to have 6 points out of our first 4 games, but we have 10 and joint top with liverpool who had Aston Villa, Chelsea, Sunderland and Derby.
We also strolled past Sparta Prauge 5-0 on agg, which people was saying could be a hard fixture for us before we had even kicked a ball.
I did also say i'm not getting carried away i'm just enjoying our good start to the season we might aswell enjoy it because it seems like everyone thinks we will fail soon enough, i don't because i'm being possitive about things and just enjoying it. :D 8)

So what do you think Henry is thinking about now?
I think he would be wishing he had listened to the advice of Sir Cliff Richard in his 1962 hit Bachelor Boy.

Christ. Here we go again. Boys, beating Sparta Prague, Man City, Portsmouth and Fulham does not prove that we're a stronger unit without Henry. I am pleased with our start of the season, but we've proven nothing so far in a season where we have to prove a lot.

I'm sure Henry isn't thinking an awful lot. By the way, he has started one game and the reason he hasn't started more is because he is a long way from being fully fit. It isn't a case of 'oh, he's on the bench, that means he must be a bench warmer! Henry is a professional footballer so I guarantee he is not going to be reading anything in to his, or our start to a season.

Let's not flatter ourselves.

Going by the way Henry has carried himself in his time at the arsenal i would say he is probably very pleased for us in our start. I bet he is still in contact with quite a few of the lads and i bet he is wishing us well.

I am sure the man has many things, professionally and privately, to be thinking about right now.

He probably is happy that we have started positively and I genuinely believe that he will have a smile on his face if we come away from the animal farm next Saturday with 3 points.

I disagree.

We spent most of last year without him and qualified for the champions league more comfortably, due to that the side are also more used to functioning without him.

He is also not a team player and his ego overshadowed developing players, I'll never forget his idiotic punching of the ground when Adebayor didn't pass to him against Villa. And yet never so vocal with blaming himself when he fucks up, he missed some vital chances against Barca in 2006, yet it was everyone else's fault from the post match interview. Has anyone heard any of his opinion on his own performance against Liverpool in 2001?

I think we are performing better as a unit this season compared to last, the goals are coming in from the non-forwards also, i.e. Cesc's goal spree.

So hang on; I said that our victories this season don't prove that we're a stronger unit and you said you disagree, but then you go off on a tangent and start moaning about Henry's temperament. That makes no sense. You disagreed with my point, so I put this question to you; how do our victories this season prove we are a stronger unit without him? Other than, of course, Cesc's 4-goal "goal spree"...give me a break.

I have no problem with putting a positive spin on things, but Christ, some of you lot are so fickle. I bet you were singing "we've got the best player in the world" a few years ago, and now you're implying that his leaving is the best thing that's ever happened to this team.

This post really irks me as it's a prime example of 'oh look, they're hugging in the middle of the field, that means their spirit must be stronger than ever!' It's called a 'charm offensive' mate, and no offence, but you're a sucker for it.

It is a fact that Henry was not a good captain, yes Henry was/is still a contender for being one of the world's best players, but this isn't always the best thing for the overall well being of the squad.

It rarely happens that really great players make good for positions of authority like Captains or Managers, the simple fact being they can't understand why everyone else isn't as good as they are/were and do nothing for developing players. Tony Adams had noted this regarding Glenn Hoddle's treatment of Beckham in the 1998 World Cup. I feel this same negative effect was rubbing off at Arsenal with Henry.

One of George Graham's great maxims was that you never keep hold of a player who's ego has developed such an extent that he thinks he's doing you a favour playing for you as it only gives you more problems in the long run. I think this philosophy is 100% correct and is entirely relevant to our current post-Henry situation.
