A lovely match report from the Wigan website

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Boring northern *word censored*.

That article shows a complete lack of class. Kind of reminds me of something Sp*rs would write.

How true it is that games can be determined with just one incident.
Bizarre thing to say.

We scored four goals. Surely that had a bigger impact on the game than Gibbs staying on?

Sour. To be fair it would have been a great result for them and it probably was a sending off.
You can taste the bitterness. :barscarf:

At first it looked a red card but the referee surprisingly made the right call with yellow. If you watch the replay, 1) Fabianski would have grabbed or punched the ball before Valencia (or whoever it was) would have got to it, and 2) Gibbs made hardly any contact at all and the dude flopped. Correct yellow.

whats laughable is that the article says "Adebayor set-up Mikael Silvestre shortly after coming on, crossing low for the Frenchman to tap in from six-yards." when in fact it was fabregas that crossed the ball from the throw in :?

Good shout Sammy.

I must be honest had we have lost Gibbo, I think they could have dropped Song into central defence, moved Silvestre at left back. Stuck Ade and RVP on for Bendtner & Walcott, I think we still would have won 2 - 1 such was the dominance in the 2nd half.

Hmmmm, I don't know what you expect, it's a report from a Wigan perspective so it's bound to be biased.

That said, Wigan played well in the first half, and could have been more than a goal ahead at half time.

It was only when we eventually went 4-4-2 that we got into the game.

Wigan, a great away day if anyone has never gone, and would also like to congraulate their fans who all clapped Djourou when he was stretchered off.
