Uzmanov gets his writs out!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well at least the legal route is better than the concrete overcoat.

thats a good move ... as far as I am concerned, most of the negative stuff about this guy has been hearsay with nothing substantiated .. folks wishing to perpetrate these stories should be able to defend these stories in court ..

Craig Murray is the main campaigner against this guy ... so, if usmanoz is not as bad as he is being portrayed by Craig Murray, I think he should go after him in a court of law, lets see who seems more like they are telling the truth ...

the courts are the only democratic means for people to clear their names if they have been wrongly slandered ...

Please, take careful note here that I am not a supporter of usmanov per se .. I just believe that one or two things could be true about usmanov, and libel actions may help us determine which are truths and which are mere rumours ..

Of course there is no such thing as legal aid for defamation cases, so he with the deepest pockets has a considerable advantage.

Fair enough, he has every right to try and defend his name but I wonder if this will harm his reputation more the help if the press get hold of it. Hope Murray can afford a good lawyer

I doubt it. Only likely to prove that Usmanov can afford extremely expensive solicitors and Craig Murray probably cannot. Case closed.

Since when have the British courts been the truth finders?

As has beeen mentioned earlier, in the legal system, especially the civil courts, deep pockets confer considerable advantages. Usmanov's pockets are deeprer than the wells he took from the Russian state.

Is this Dein's vision for Arsenal?

Who does he want as club doctor, Shipman?
