As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Jobsworth's probably dont read the Gooner....but someone will grass...grrr
We read!
I was in with the villareal lot last night, thought their support was pretty poor, only 800 fans.
Rest of the stadium was the loudest I've heard in ages, top atmosphere last night
well 800 from a population of about 30000 is not a bad effort...
I think it is sad you called it poor...they were lovely people who are very proud of their small provincial club..
In light of Wengers comments asking for the fans to be loud and get behind the team for the Villareal match, were the stewards told to be a little more leanient?

MG, probably mate..... they did appear to be super relaxed for once.

Generally there more relaxed for the 'bigger' games. They do realise that fans will be more 'up' for Chavski, Sp*ds, Man U & CL knock out rounds and will be more lax.

However, Wednesday was more relaxed, the events of Pires coming home and the fact only 800 Villarreal fans were there made for what you got.
Alas....when the dirty Mancs come to town....it may not be as relaxed...but other things will be on the security minds..
Two huge clubs, playing at a packed stadium, televised to most the world in the semi final of the Champions League...just have a good think about that! Getting people to sit down may be the least of the problems that may occur that evening.
i wonder if there is a new tolerance now that gazidis is running the show. john beattie, stadium manager - who is in charge of stewarding - will report to gazidis, as he did to edelman and friar before. maybe gazidis is a bit more relaxed and in tune with the idea of supporting the team and creating an atmosphere. word has it he's not a huge fan of the wonder of you so will be interesting to see if that is maintained next season.

Wasn't sure you'd want the locals here to know you were a steward. Is it ok if I tell them which steward you are?
Well, I have a chat, and never ask my steward for the score, as he predicted a 2-0 for us against Villa, but do chat with him a bit. However, we had some cunty jobsworth woman as well who kept asking me to sit down. However, I think the good steward must have sorted things out after half time there was no interference.
