Danny Fiszman the unlikely good guy at Arsenal (10/9)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Danny Fiszman the unlikely good guy at Arsenal (10/9)

usual thread starter… Who’d have thought it eh? Danny Fiszman coming across as a stabilising influence. I’ve been told he seemed very genuine in the meeting with the AST. And yet, he could disappear from the scene tomorrow for all we know, such is the nature of business. Do you trust him? Do you believe he will still be around in five years’ time? Would you prefer David Dein in control of the club?

Things are not always what they seem. DD says he loves the Arsenal, but then we all know sometimes love is blind. I would never have called Fizman a Gooner, but then sometimes from a measly wrinkled root a beautiful flower blossoms. Maybe he's just waiting for even more money but at least lets give the man the credit of a doubt.
Dein has lost it for me a long time ago - no matter how many love songs he sings - but with the sale of his shares to a more than dubious ex-soviet-newly-rich the last Dein fan should retire his flag. I don't want people like him, Ustinov or whatever his name is, that former Thai prime minister who screwed his own people methodically and buys himself a football club with stolen money (sew me, prick!) - I have neither lust for their money nor respect for their doubtful practices and should they all go to hell tomorrow I'd not feel sorry. Best thing that could happen for the Arsenal would be a OK Coral like showdown between Uwhatever and Krupke.

It does appear as if DDis slowly losing support among his ardent followers .. following recent events, and recent comments in the press ... so, the jury is out on whether he should be allowed to take charge like he did before ...

Now, I do not know much about this Fiszman guy and what his motivations/passions are ... but its re-assuring that he intends to hold on to his stake for a while .. at least until we understand whats going on with the new investors ...

Desparately hope, they can all work out a proper working arrangement, and that arsenal remains in multiple hands instead of a being owned by one individual ..

I can't see Fiszman coming out to the AST and straight out lying to them about this intentions. I think the DD connivings may have made the Board much more united in keeping the status quo - time will tell, but I'm definitely with the 'devil you know' camp.

Slight digression - but when we talk about the Board - Edelman must be worth his weight in gold to us. Having delivered the Emirates on time and budget, he's now got to manage the process re Queensland Road re-development, which won't be easy. Top guy!

hmmmm.... easy there. keith edelman fulfills a particular function, but although he tries he is not a football man and he should get someone in on that front to assist him whose advice he will actually listen to. i get the feeling the senior staff at the club do not really stand up to him when they know he is wrong. edelman is the line manager of the individual who has decided to apply for the 'gooner' trademark remember. he could stop that nonsense with one phone call, but he has no idea of the kind of resentment amongst the ordinary fans that this type of insensitivity creates. so top businesman i will give you. but top guy... :?
