todays formation

Post by projoe »

WENGER GOT IT ALL WRONG, WHY MATCH CHELSEA'S FORMATION, WE SHOULD JUST PLAY OUR OWN GAME INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT THOSE BUNCH OF DIRTY CHEATING CHAVS. YOU WOULD NEVER SEE MAN UTD OR BARCELONA CHANGING THEIR FORMATION TO MATCH CHELSKI'S. WENGER HAS HAD AN ABSOLUTE SHOCKER ONCE AGAIN IN A HUGE GAME :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We have played 4-5-1 plenty of times before, the problem today was our personal choice. Van Persie on the flank, let alone in front of Arshavin, Denilson instead of Song, Cesc pushed up, taking off Ade for Nic, those were the costly mistakes for me

once again AW proves he has no faith in Arsenal football because in every big game he switches the formations and players to match a physically stronger team. thing is...we dont have the players to match them that way.

our strength is speed and quickness and fast passing....why not play your strengths?

we have played it before, but arsenal play 4-4-2 really well when the passing and the quick tempo is there. he only played 4-5-1 today as chelsea play it. we should play the formation were most comfortable with (4-4-2)

Everyone will agree, we should of played 4-4-2, but yh the big things happened when arshavin didnt start, song didnt start/play CB, the taking off of adebayor. To be honest, AW should of left the formation in tact, because one loss in 24, says something.

I suppose it did work against villareal and city but he just put the wrong personel e.g. Nasri/arshavin for van persie, song for diaby and then we could have changed to a 4-4-2 if needed.

True true, oh well, i hope this lesson helps AW for the game against united. And chin up to arshavin, the lad can't play champions league, and i believe most if not all arsenal fans were expecting him to start, but he comes on at 70 minutes, must be fustrating for the lad, and he is arguably our best player, i doubted him when there was speculation of us signing him, but hes worth every penny.

get real

we got over ran in midfield with Denilson, Cesc & Diaby - if he had gone 4-4-2. Song and Cesc would of been constantly out numbered Chelsea had Essien, Lampard and Ballack in the middle

once again Chelsea played with one up and our two centre backs couldn't stop him

Eboue was shit against Malouda, and Gibbs fair play did keep Anelka quiet - but to many times Lampard and Ballack broke from midfield and not one of our 3 midfielders pick them up Denilson was to slow on the ball, Cesc had a shit game, no fucking motivation or leadership from our Captain and Diaby just wanders where ever he likes - no one knows he's best position. RVP & Ade were shit and Theo was in and out again

Agree, we totally played into the Chav's hands.

Song, should have started instead of Diaby (I couldn't actually believe it when he started) and Arshavin should have started also.

I really don't understand what Wenger was doing, and his substitutions were terrible also (far too late) :banghead:

How can you say he only played that way as Chelsea do?

Have you spoken to Arsene directly and he told you his reasons?

No, didnt think you had so why try and make out that pure specualtaion is fact?

The simple, if hurtful, truth is Chelsea are a better side than us.

The formation wasn't the problem. The problem was the personnel asked to play it. You can't pick three central midfielders who are all better with the ball than without it. Song has to play every game because we have no other defensive midfielder, certainly not Denilson who should go and find a mid table club where he can be the main man and be their version of Fabregas rather than being forced into a role here he is patently not suited to.

You also can't play that system without 2 men who can play on the flanks. Van Persie is not that man - it had to be Nasri (see below for Arshavin).

You also have to let one of the central midfielders get up to the front man and play just off him - Diaby was the best suited to do this on the pitch, in reality it should have been Arshavin.

If we have to play that system away in the Champions League we have to play a midfield of Walcott, Song, Fabregas, Nasri with Diaby or Van Persie in behind Adebayor linking closely with him.
