At first i was looking forward to singing the torres song but after hearing from "its up 4 grabs now" i tried to think of a song for 89 so i thought up this, to the tune of Don Mclean American Pie.

A long long time ago i can still remember how the Arsenal used to make me smile,
And thomas new he could make us dance if he put away that finale chance and we were happy for a while.
I cant remember if i cried when i read about that final stride the day we won on mer-sy-side.

Nope. I'd emailed them some other songs from the chants thread & they replied to that asking if I'd put some words to the River Plate song so I sent that back to them & I'm still waiting patiently by my laptop for my response!

I'm sure it just got lost in the post!

To be fair it's all just opinion & they obviously just liked that other version better. I'm not bitter! It's not like I hang around outside The Rocket with a AK-47 just waiting for the march every other Saturday so I can exact my revenge! Honest!

And Bren I've heard that song before but never sung like that! Absolute f*cking quality from those crazy German lunatic bastards!

I think we had a version of this a few years ago but it might be nice to adapt it slightly just for this one game at Anfield, a tribute 20 years on and all;
