Summer clear out

So basically, we should get rid of 7 or 8 players (maybe 10, according to some).

And then we'll buy 8 new ones and on top of that bring 2 or 3 young players through.

I'm looking forward to the 8 months it's going to take that new team to adjust, going out of every competition in the process and battling for 6th or 7th spot in the league with everyone screaming for Wenger's head. Much like this season where we lost 3 players, only much worse.

Wouldn't get rid of either Diaby or Denilson to be honest, they will both improve greatly and if we let them go they could come back to haunt us.

I'd be suprised if any of those players are sold; with the possible exception of Silvestre.

We may sign a couple of players, but I expect us to start next season with almost the same squad.

Although, for obvious reasons, I still think that we NEED a holding midfielder and a centre back.

Will we sign a holding midfielder, though?? No, I doubt it.

In a recent interview, Wenger said he was pleased he didn't go for Alonso or Barry because it would have KILLED Diaby, Denilson and Song.

Presumably, that theory - in Wenger's head - still rings true this summer coming, as it did last... so I expect him to stick with the 3 aforementioned players, with Ramsey playing more games next season, too.

Sorry chaps.

Should loan out Denilson really. That way he gets playtime and improves but doesnt hurt us in the mean time like he currently is.

That's the bit that really gets up my tits with Wenger... competition for places will "kill" players. Pure bollocks! Real competition for places is what this squad of overpaid underachieving soft ladymen need to get them to pull the finger out!! :banghead:

We've currently got 14 players out on loan in Philippe Senderos, Armand Traore, Nacer Barazite, Rui Fonte, Gavin Hoyte, Henri Lansbury, Havard Nordtveit, Abu Ogogo, Paul Rodgers, Jay Simpson, Rene Steer, Vincent van den Berg, Pedro Botelho and Kerrea Gilbert.

That's a lot of players and they'll be coming between this month and August to bolster the ranks.

Thats an amazing stat Kiki. Glad somebody put it together. Gonna have to expand the training ground for that lot. :D From that perspective its fairly obvious we are going to be big sellers in the summer. Just hope that we can use some of the money for a DM, CH and GK, but as mentioned above, given AW's comments I will not be holding my breath.
