It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.
Ive got a dodgy back when i say dodgy i really mean its killing me and im getting tingling in one of my legs been told i might have a slipped disk. I cant get a scan till mid May on the NHS and docs say little more they can do without seeing a scan. Having to go into work as i dont get sick pay and got tickets for Boro on Sunday i'll be gutted if i cant make it so.... Need some advice to deal with the pain or a cure from any fellow sufferers. Keep your eye out in the for sale section too if it doesnt improve ill be selling my lower tier ticket for Sunday but i'll crawl over broken glass to get there
pain killers and rest will be most doctors advice flash - if you can get to an osteopath they would be able to manipulate the disc but it is expensive and hurts!

I fractured the base of my spine 10 years ago and I still suffer now along with dodgy hip so know how painful backs are. I would be weary of osteopath/physio until you have had a scan,if the doctor thought that physio would help he would have refered you for that too.
What drugs has the doctor prescribed you?
Some strong anti imflamatories and Diazipam muscle relaxants but as i work quite a way from home (and drive) i cant take the muscle relaxants during the week. Ive had probs for about 4 weeks now but over the weekend it has got much much worse. My wife has to do my shoes up now
and no "whilst your down there love" jokes
Im fairly ok when i sit and even not too bad when i stand but to go from one to the other im seriously shouting with pain as i do it

Gonna take some hoilday i think, i do shift work too so going home soon and laying down this afternoon. Thanks for the help everyone i really appreciate it
Flash'
the pain is caused by a disc pressing on the Sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back to your toes. I had the same problem in 2000 and i had two operations six months apart to cure it. Even now as i type this my back is still sore but you get used to it.
The only way to check what exactly is causing it is to get an MRI scan. DO NOT let anyone manipulate your back before getting the scan.
This is a very common complaint in Pregnant women, I assume this does not apply to you

You'll be okay at the grove as you're not allowed to stand up anyway.
