We went to Anfield, to play Liverpool, who are 2nd, out of all other trophies and have already destroyed man U at their Gaff, with loads of injuries, a half strong defence, 2nd choice keeper, and a 5th choice striker.
Got outplayed at anfield (surely an actual crime)
And drew 4-4 what a disgrace.
Sure we throught the lead away, but so did they.
Fabianski was excellent, not his fault for any of the goals.
Gibbs was very good,
Song and Cesc played well

What game were you watching,
Fabianski excellent

, what exactly did he do that made him excellent tonight.
Gibbs very good

, he certainly wasn't very good, whilst i don't blame him because he had little cover and the defenders round him didn't inspire any confidence, he was average at best tonight.
Song and Cesc played well

we used to dominate the midfield every game even against the big boys and even in losing, watching Liverpools midfield overwhelm our midfield for most of the game as it did tonight, leaving us pretty much to hitting them on the break is mainly the responsibility of the centre of the midfield so to say they played well is more than a slight exaggeration. Cesc by his standards was poor tonight as he was saturday and has been most of the season and if Song's performance tonight is enough for you to be happy then you are obviously easily pleased.
Fabianski kept us in the game

, especially in the first half... I think they must have had about 20 shots on goal in the game, and there wasnt anything he could do about the goals. He made 3 or 4 outstanding saves.
Gibbs was good, considering he was isolated by silvestre.

If Gibbs had been an established player then his performance tonight would have been poor, so i am giving him the benefit of the doubt because he is cutting his teeth and he is playing in a defence that is second rate and also he was given little cover from the midfield but he certainly didn't do any better than average.
And yes I think song and Cesc did have good games, Denilson was no where tonight and them 2 did a good job, they covered a hell of a lot of ground and to be honest put Alonso and Macherano generally out of the game.

I think your having a wind up aren't you, their midfield were swarming all over us in our half for most of the second half and the majority of the first, most of the midfield possession we had was on the break.
You cant go to Anfiled and expect to dominate.

No you can't but i expect the midfield to hold their own as prior to this season we at the very least did regardless of who we were playing or where, especially when the oppositions best midfielder by a mile is missing, our midfield interplay is so not up to our standards this season and that is what our game is based on, it's been the biggest dissapointment of this season, it's partly down to cesc not being on his game but also the guys playing in the middle with him aren't capable of imposing themselves on the game as flam did last season. The fact that we are happy because Song has actually done the job he was supposed to be doing all season to an adequate level of late says it all really, we have seen so much crap from some of our players this year some of us have actually lowered our standards as to what qualifies as a good performance.
Im not saying that our team is perfect. Our CB's were shoddy, so was sagna and strengthening is needed, but i honestly cant understan the negativity tonight. What did you exoect tonight? A stroll in Stanley Park. Even the invicibles would have taken that result tonight

Yes it was a good result i agree ,far better than i expected, but lets not kid ourselves we deserved it or that players that didn't play well were fantastic, had AA not done his stuff it's just as likely we could of got hammered with the exact same performance, so if you are going to critique the performances at all do it on what you actually saw not with the rose tinted specs.
