Ray Kennedy mosaic / tribute - Liverpool v Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ray Kennedy mosaic / tribute - Liverpool v Arsenal

Post by Ray of hope appeal »

All

The Ray of Hope Appeal has made arrangements for Ray Kennedy to attend tomorrow night's match against Arsenal at Anfield. Ray's health permitting on the day, Ray is keen to come along and is really looking forward to the game. There will be twin mosaics held up in the Kop and in the visitors section of the Anfield Road prior to kick off to celebrate Ray's careers with Liverpool and Arsenal and we hope that all fans attending will acknowledge and celebrate a player who was a giant of both clubs. Let's give a truly great man the reception he deserves and a night to remember.

In the words of the Chairman of his first club "He was a hell of a player."

I'm 100% sure our marvelous away support won't let you down, mate. 8)

A great tribute to a great player.

But both clubs should do something substantial for Ray, financially.

Thats really good to hear he is well enough to attend the match and I'm sure the fans will make it a great occasion for him.

Please feel free to cut and paste over other Arsenal message boards and websites to publicise ahead of tonight lads and lasses - we're not registered elsewhere.

Would imagine any Arsenal fans going to the game will have already left.

How did it look? The Kop end looked superb! It was a sea of red, bar a white number 5 in the middle.

Was there any coverage of it on the T.V.?

We had all yellow ones at our end bar (apparently a number 10 in the middle) it must have taken ages to organise but obviously couldn't see our end. :(

Would like to know the impact it had.....

Yes it looked great but its a shame the clubs cant help him out. I know Arsenal played Liverpool for him years ago but surely in this day and age something can be sorted out or a donation can be given to him.
