Stewards at the youth game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yup, I was one of the slightly older "kids" getting down the yoof, having a bit of a sing.

Basically, the stewards were outraged because we were all standing up - a few kids got kicked out for it. We did reason that we weren't exqactly blocking anyone's view as we were all in the last few rows of the block but as usual, common sense fell on deaf ears.

I mean really, is there any need to start chucking kids out for standing up and singing?

I feel sorry for this new generation, they'll never even experience what a real football atmosphere is.

The kids singing in the corner made the atmosphere gave the kids on the pitch a little bit of appreciation for winning through to final

The over zealous stewarding was the only down point on a good game.

I thought that towards the end it was a chelski fan who got kicked out?? but i thought that the stewards we're being OTT, they we're only singing which when i last looked is what you we're supposed to do at a football match.

That's true and a real shame. I remember when stewards used to jump in with us to celebrate big goals ffs...

I can't wait to bring my 4 year old son to his first game of this new football... sit down now son, here's your opera glasses, quiet now... good lad, you may clap politely if we score and shake your head slightly to show disaproval if one of the opposition scores or dives...

ooh, can't wait...

I did not work the game last night, but I am sorry you guys feel annoyed due to the stewards you came across, I can understand your concerns, but really sometimes I do wonder if common sense could prevail.

Tell you what, stop me celebrating an Arsenal goal and I will pack it in altogether!!!
