Our support

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Was in 511, row 10 a fair few around us singing and making plenty of noise, especially in the rows in front. When we scored we kept celebrating, the people behind sat down and kept asking us all to sit too. If you can't celebrate going one up in an FA semi vs London rivals then whats the f**kin g point?

Thought we outsang those chavvy c**ts though, couldn't hear them at all until the 86th min.

Atmos was quality on the train, great banter with the chavs. They had no response to our songs about terrys mum, cashley or shit club no history...
They were singing at one point 'we are the arsenal haters' - hahaha how lame (and ppl moan on here how boring our songs are!!!!)
In the ground i was in block 111 at the back of the lower tier and the atmos was ok but it didn't really get going round.
we stood the whole game as did every1 to the left and right of us and the ppl right at the front but the ppl directly infront sat most of the game.

Am going Anfield tomorrow night and am sure the atmos from the travelling gooners will be better there

All of the angry posters on here (and many not so angry) obviously still yearn for those days.

Time to face up to the fact that sitting in extrawide, comfy padded seats is not conducive to synchronised stadium-wide chanting. Those great days of swaying back and forth in the North Bank or Clock End are long gone.

It's all about money these days and the club is now set up to squeeze maximum cash from it's followers.

The reviled JCL's are the ones who pay top dollar in Club level and the Diamond club. Proportionately much bigger spenders than the rank and file. To keep them happy they'll continue to get priority over the old school supporters in the "cheap" seats. Same as the people who turn left getting on the plane - bet you hate them too.

No point in whinging about it, best to sit down and keep quiet until such time as the football bubble bursts and the big spending fans go back to watching rugby.

Don't know why any of you are moaning about our support on Saturday. Overall we out sang the Chavs and were far more vocal than most games at AG.

At the final whistle I thought we were playing at Borough's ground, wonder what pple have to do on a Sunny sunday afternoon that they had to live way before the end. Would think our fans would give the lads a hand before the game at OT but I guess the Tube was going to stop running  .

Might be a bit too optimistic but i think English football in its current state is going to implode if you wait 2-3 years.
Fan owned clubs are the way too go,look at Barcalona.

As for the structure of a whole league,Germany is the way to go.
We have to hope the recession hits football hard as strange as that sounds

Just be patient,im sure the game we all know and love will be back to us soon,

also i forgot to mention Scudamore had a part to play in all of this,if i was the CEO of the Premier League we'd have:
*All clubs fan owned
*30% of all stadia Safe Standing
*Salary cap for all players
*No sponsored stadiums eg instead Emirates stadium,it wud be officially Ashburton gorve
*Only multi sponsor for the top leagues (ie. the leagues are called English Premier League,English Championship etc...and they have sponsor partners
* 25% Revenues generated have to be shared between all clubs
*Ticket prices between 15-30 quid for safe standers, away fans and
families

is that everthing?

In the meantime,if i were you i'd just stick to away games

I think half the team would have left early given the chance.

Ade left the field pretty quick. Probably wanted to check the offside rules again, or have a lie down after his exertions.

Job done and everyone getting a bit bored waiting for the whistle. The players were going through the motions trying not to exert themselves.

The game was like an exhibition match of old pros, especially at the end. Many periods of silence during the game.

All bar AA saving themselves for the CL game at OT I think.

Hopefully they will show a bit more enthusiasm then. :barscarf:

[quote="arsenals27"]Just got back from the game. I think our support is a f*cking disgrace. Anyone but the 5 or so at the back of block 503 should be ashamed. They showed almost no support for the team, despite many songs being started.
ok fair play to the lower tier behind the goal who all stood, but the rest?? how and why do they get tickets?? whats the point?[/quot

It was so bad yesterday that at times I could hear the players talking from Row 22 of the lower tier.
