lets raise the roof

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We did it when we want a man down against the pool earlier in the season. was the best the grove has sounded for ages.
that was justified though, we had unfairly lost a man and refereeing decisions were going against us the whole game. but for the manc *word censored* to boo our players from the first touch they had is absolutely pathetic. lets just hope we can generate similar atmosphere to the anfield game and put the mancs under pressure.

Why is it pathetic the away players will shit themselfs if you got 55,000 people booing and whistling at you when ever you touched the ball.

The only thing is lots of *word censored* at our ground wont do it so it will sound pathetic. They will be too busy eating nachos or some other over priced pile of shit.

We need to make a good atmosphere if we want to win.

i suppose cos id much rather fans spent their energy on creating an atmosphere by cheering on their own team and motivating the team that way, rather than just intent on booing the opposition players just cos theyve got possession. plus it sounds much better on the tv too :barscarf:

Can i ask a question was you in rome? If so did you think that them booing us everytime we got the ball helped the team? It most certinly did but you can mix the booing and chanting together so we have something for the whole 90 mins. :barscarf:

rome was pretty hostile, i genuinely believe, no matter what the players say, that fans get to them. you just need to see rooney and how he played back in november to see that we were getting to him and it felt fucking great. what we all need is the belief that the underdog gives you like when liverpool came this year and cost us our striker and when we lined up against united with bendtner on his own. the night should play well into our (i say our, im still at fucking uni :banghead:) hands and im willing to bet a sizable chunk of my student loan that you will only see a steward when you walk in from the concourse.

what we ALSO need, is people to sing at a decent speed for a decent length of time for once.

One of the reasons why I said lets boo is because the only songs we sing at the Grove are we are by far the greatest team and Arsenalll Arsenal Arsenal. oh and stand up if you hate tottenham. there is only so many times you can sing them. Still I hope we push the team to victory. :barscarf:

If it is anything like the Liverpool game (after the red card), we'll piss all over them (on the pitch). Man U don't "do" hostile atmospheres, they're not used to it, and it will affect them. Rooney gets wound up by "fat granny shagger" and the ref will be influenced if Ronaldo gets a "cheeeaaaaatttt" everytime he goes down.

Problem is, this game sold out within about 2 hours - and I bet touts got a fair few tickets. Touts = selling tickets to tourists, Man U fans and people who've never been to an Arsenal match before.

What sort of *word censored* leaves a ground early if you need to get a winner in the last few mins. I remember the first two games aginst man u at the Grove loads left early I am so glad they missed the winner and equaliser. Fucking bunch of *word censored*!!!! :banghead: :banghead:

Its Ridiculous that no artifical noise(Drums in particular) is allowed in the ground, having to smuggle an airhorn in is silly :banghead: I think the seats at the ground are too comfy for some thats why they dont stand up(in the beginning of the game!) to sing "stand up for the Arsenal"
