Our Full-Backs Hold The Key?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Our Full-Backs Hold The Key?

Post by dvbrisgooner1 »

I believe that we have the best full-back pairing in the league. If these two can stay fit I think we have a real chance this year. Clichy is getting better and better - we appear to have had a lucky escape getting rid of Cashley when we did. As for Sagna, Wenger appears to have done it again. This guy has pace, power and great footballing ability. He is also not afraid to mix it with the opposition - I noticed that Huddlestone didn't want to know when Sagna got involved with the Almunia spat yesterday. I think Sagna will be a new legend in a couple of years following on nicely from Lee Dixon and Lauren, the perfect replacement.

I will be interested to hear what you all think of our fabulous full-backs.

Sanga has been a great right back so far for us and long may it continue but Clichy is suffering from a loss in form but yeah, he is a fantastic player as he will show again.

The best two fullbacks definitely.

What about the best two fullbacks in Europe? Would anyone think thats taking it too far? I wouldn't say so, but I'm unsure as to whether or not they should be labelled that so quickly...

Awful against Portsmouth, cuaght out of position by Sparta in both games and by Man City. The only real reason he hasn't cost us is a) poor finishing, b) Jens great save against Sparta

i agree with Magic , clichy hasn't played upto his own standards defensively , luckily we didn't get punished for his mistakes . dont get me wrong i think the lad is pure class and one of my favourite players , i would not trade him for any other left back in the premiership .

i think in a year he will be the best left back in the world , bar none .

Yes, I did say he was a fantastic player, indeed it is quoted in the post above yours, doesn't make him immune from criticism if he has been playing badly.

At the start of the season I was called overoptimistic, now I am a pessimist

Now, now Magic; don't go against popular opinion on this site, otherwise you'll get crucified
