Just go Arsene
Fair enough thatgooner and I not only accept your explaination but I also understand it
I have suggested before on here that my perspective might be different cos I am not english but to my mind I want a successful team/club regardless of the nationality of the owners. The way I see it we have a foreign manager, foreign coaches and mostly foreign players so it is a bit late in the day to start checking passports

And I stand by that statment.Irish Gooner wrote:Thatgooner you're threading on a fine line. Mocking the Irish on here when only 2 of us posted in this thread before your post ,one from northern ireland, is bullshit.

Calm down mate - it was a simple misunderstanding that once you explained your comment I am sure that irish gooner will have backed off. We are all a bit sensitive tonight thats all

Doesn't play Arshavin in the FA cup semi, yet starts him as captain in a dead rubber versus Portsmouth a few games later.
Plays Cesc off the striker in the first leg of the semi at OT.
Plays 4-5-1 tonight when we needed to take the game to United.
3 bizarre decisions which have destroyed our season. Whats going on?

If Arsene Wenger is sacked it will be nothing short of a disgrace.
The man is up there with Herbert Chapman as one of arsenal's 2 greatest ever managers. They both revolutionised the club, and football in this country. Chapman was sadly taken whilst at the helm, but this enabled him to go down as a legend. Wenger deserves to be seen in this light, even if he never wins another trophy for us. Much as some people don't like the new stadium, without it, we can forget about ever challenging with Europe's elite again. Wenger is almost solely responsible for that.
The game has changed dramatically in the time since we last won a trophy, with overseas billionaires pumping money into the other big 3 clubs. The fact we're still anywhere near them is nothing short of a miracle. When you then factor in the stadium debt it's incomprehensible. Yet with Arsene we have stayed in touch.
I am also sickened by the lack of loyalty among fans. We waste no time in mercilessly criticising players if they so much as hint they would like to play elsewhere - eg Adebayor. Yet when a manager, who could quite easily have walked into any of Europe's top jobs years ago, goes through a difficult period, people want him out at the drop of a hat. Talk about double standards.
I just pray Arsene gets to decide when his time is up, because if he is sacked, the image of class that football fans associate with AFC will take a severe blow.
Forgive the rant, I'm feeling very emotional after tonight

Its a completely different situation at Manchester United. They've got cash to burn. Could you see us spending £30 mill for Rio and Rooney and still being able to pay £15 mill for Carrick and so on??FOXYARSENAL wrote:king kolo wenger will not be sacked and that is our problem,i think it gives him the license to do what he wants at our club instead of being put under pressure like any other manager,do you think fergie would get away with it at man u?? not a chance and look what he has done for them
No chance
I also pray he does it himself and does it tonight or very very soon!King_Kolo wrote:If Arsene Wenger is sacked it will be nothing short of a disgrace.

And I also pray he stops saying bullsh%t such as:
Great spirit
Mental strenght
It's our time now
Great charachter
They are Winners
(insert yr own)

King Lolo I understand where you are coming from re the double standards in loyalty us fans show but the 2 cases that you cite are completely different. Anyway from a personal viewpoint I too would prefer not to see wenger sacked at any stage but at the end of the day it is the club and the progress of the club that is paramount above all else. Wenger has contributed immensely to our club and football in general since his arrival but we have quite obviously gone very much backwards in the last 5 seasons and the goodwill he has built up cannot last indefinitely. Last august I argued that wenger should go this summer if we flopped again this season cos we cannot afford to stand back idly and watch another transfer window pass by as we try to live out arsene's dream
Either he changes his perspective (and that is highly unlikely
) or he has to move on and it is simple as that
