NO EXCUSE FOR LEAVING EARLY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wish they would us 10-0 when I left, so that the club or AW will reform the team. The team is just not good enough!!
SORRY BUT NO EXCUSE, WOULD YOU HAVE RUN BACK IN IF YOU HEARD WE'D SCORED....I BET YOU WOULD.

BIGGEST GAME AT THE NEW STADIUM SO FAR.

POOR SHOW BY YOU AND THE REST THAT LEFT EARLY. JUST LIKE MOST ON THE PITCH YOU LET THE SIDE DOWN TOO.
Trust me Bren many who left early certainly didn't let the side down ask the mancs who were celebrating on the Holloway Road.

Was disgraceful the amount of people that left. They were streaming out with the second half barely 15 minutes old. Ridiculous to call yourself a fan and then go and do that. I think from now on anyone doing something so ridiculous should be banned from the next few games. Let someone who loves the club take the tickets.

And by the way, what was going on with the stewards and the sniffer dogs at the start of the 2nd half??

i have never left early at any game but if i had of been there last night i think i would have.why should we sit and be embarressd by that excuse of a performfance by our so called stars who earn big big doe on the back of us the fans,if they cant be bothered to show up then why should we??
hopefully it has sent some sort of message to the board and wenger that we as fans are not happy at the way we are being cheated out of our hard earned cash, being fed the same dribble year in year out while they sit back take our cash and give it to them useless over paid bastards.but it will probably just be more of the same next year because the club dont give a fuck about us.

It may not be right to leave early but I think people have every right to vote with their feet in a simlar way to those who voted with their voice and booed Eboue.

Lat night was one straw too many in terms of watching an Arsenal side roll over and die in a big game. We were given a Get Out of Jail Free card last week and what did we do with it. Tossed it away.

I agree under normal circumstances it is wholly wrong to leave early but these were exceptional circumstances.

As with the barracking of Eboue, if some good comes from this very clear protest by the fans then it can only be a good thing.

It is easy to knock supporters for leaving early but people would do well to remember the cause for this.

The team not turning up at all............again!

Sorry but I cannot agree with this thread. I personally never leave our games early. I've been going for thirty years and I cannot recall ever doing it but I do understand why some would have done so last night.
I said on another thread that I'll never agree with people leaving for convenience i.e. getting a train, wanting to watch something on telly etc. I do however totally understand and respect the right of people to vote with their feet. If you are paying top dollar and being served up shite by (some) players that appear that they don't give a toss, then why shouldn't you walk out? You'd do it at the theatre and you'd do it in a restaurant without question. Why? Because you are dissatisfied with what you have paid for! Over recent years the club have treated us more and more like customers and less and less like supporters. We mean nothing more to them now other than a source of revenue for their business. If you are treated like a customer then you have the right to behave like one!

Great post Percy. I agree 100%.

I have had a season ticket for 13 years, not missed a domestic semi, or final in that time, been to plenty of away CLeague games, including Paris 06, Madrid, Juve etc. I have paid AFC a fortune in that time, and as a loyal customer, I get to vote with my feet any time I choose.

I left at HT last night, and I had to queue to get out of the ground!

That is 3 times in the past three weeks that the team has largely failed to turn up, in the 3 biggest games of our season!

If we are as poor against Chelski on Sunday, I doubt I will still be there at HT!

Give your ticket to someone who will stay to the end. Look at clubs like Leeds who still get big turnouts and they are in League 1. You are a disgrace to Arsenal fans.

Second goal? 10mins into the game? You are joking?

Look I sort of understand the argument about wanting to send a message to the board but how the hell can leaving at half time ever help your team and what is the message you're sending to the team? You're shit and I can't be arsed to stay and try and help you in a Champs Lge Semi Final.

I don't get it. I just don't get it. Football has its highs and lows. Some old gits like me and you can always spout off about the 80s and games/seasons when we've been really shit. The manager has got it wrong, we're not sure what cash he has or hasn't had to spend but that's another topic. Surely you have to stick it out for 90 mins.

We have people leaving early when we're 3 nil up or 3 nil down so I'm not sure what 'message' that sends to anybody.

It caused major arguments and scuffles around me last night and just as you think it might send a message, other fans feel the need to send you a message if you're fucking off after 10 mins.

You might hate players who earn £80k and show little passion and quite right too but when you're there you're supporting THE TEAM and imo you do that when the going gets tough as well as during a 49 game unbeaten run.

(Anyway, got home last night just at the point Sharon Stone uncrossed her legs in Basic Instinct. I think I broke my Sky+ slow motion button)

Mate, I pay my money, and I will do exactly as I choose.

The club screwed up the access to the new stadium, which causes the normal mass-exodus 10 mins before the end of every match-day. (For my money, we should have built on the M25 somewhere, but that is another argument)

Wenger has screwed up the team with his refusal to ever to admit he is wrong.

If you can't see that the current squad has some major holes, then you know nothing about football whatsoever.
