I think that we would get christian poulsen cheap(ish) this summer as he is out of favour at juve and would provide the defensive midfielder we badly need.
Chilellini at juve would also be a good buy imo and would show that the club has real ambition. Unfortunately that means that we wont buy him as he would cost more than a 2nd hand clapped out cortina
Of course the return of senderos will count as a new signing in wengers eyes
It doesnt take einstein to know that we fcuked up twice last summer - we all know that we should have taken the big money on offer for greedybollix but we also had a chance to sign either david villa or samuel eto. Now we know that we aint got a hope of signing either even if we did get 30m for the greedy *word censored*
If, and that is a very big if imo, we flog greedybarndoor this summer than we will propably need a replacement striker for him as all the existing strikers dont have any physical presence or much pace come to that. Such strikers are not overflowing in world football today and I am hard pressed to think of one that is attainable and in our price range though I shouldnt worry cos we will probably end up signing dean ashton who fits right into our ideals - he is constantly fcuking injured

I know we were linked a few years back and he's fallen out of favor some at Villa, Reo-Coker would be an attainable player to get. If we could bring him back to the form he showed previously he'd certainly warrant a punt.
In the world of money no object there are many others I'd look at but what's the point in looking up at the stars when Wenger will make sure that the skylight stays firmly shut?

I always felt that in the fa cup final (the so called gerrard final
) reo coker gave gerrard a lesson in football that day to the point that gerrard feigned injury but seemed to be ok when he ran around the place after scoring their 2nd goal
Have to say though that reo coker isnt big enough to play the defensive midfield roll in my opinion

Just a quick check on Wikipedia
puts Reo-Coker at 5'9, Diarra at 5'7 and Flamini at 5'10. The other two a pretty well missed in that position.
Not that I'm that way inclined, but shirtless his physique seems to be pretty impressive.
I'm trying to look at a real signing we could make and well lets face it, only SwaleGooner would make a case for Song being a better option.
It's not gonna happen though, and frankly it's too depressing to think who we could sign and who we will sign.
I think I'll leave the transfer talk alone after this.

We could have had Ya Ya Toure (who really is a BEAST!) the season before last - apparently Kolo came back from the Africa Nations Cup saying to AW - If you make the offer he WILL join us....barca got him for £9 mill - a steal - We need a CB who likes to munch people and a Mid-fielder to kick the shit out of the oppositions mid-field so Cesc can work his magic - Oooops! what was I thinking we USED to have one of those callled flamini -
If Arsene Wengers comments on the website today (see below) are anything to go by - he appears to be hinting at getting a CB - as he has saaid he doesn't want to bring in anyone new (in front of the young - up and coming - present mid-fielders)
Arsène Wenger will not jettison his young internationals when he assesses his squad this summer.
Transfer speculation will be rife in the months to come and the Frenchman will be under pressure to spend big money and recruit experienced players after Arsenal failed to land a trophy for the fourth consecutive season.
Of course Wenger did make a big-money buy in the last transfer window when Andrey Arshavin arrived from Zenit St. Petersburg on deadline day. The Russian playmaker has energised Arsenal - not least with that four-goal salvo at Anfield - but the impact of his most recent signing will not necessarily instruct Wenger's next move in the transfer market.
"We are always in a trap," explained the manager. "You work with these young players and when they come out and emerge after a few years you get someone in front of them.
"For example bring another player in for who, for Walcott? That’s crazy he’s in the England team. Fabregas is in the Spanish national team he’s 22, Diaby is in the French national team he’s 22, Nasri is in the French national team he’s 22, Bendtner is in the Danish national team at 21, Walcott is 20. Kick a player out who is already in his national team?
"There are plenty of players who are quality but they are developing and that’s why we have to continue to stick to that.â€
