This thread has become just a tad bloated..

I think we should firstly concentrate on songs that are vaguely 'anthem' like and belong to Arsenal fans only- B'jesus said paddy is capable of being that IF it is sung for 5,10,15 mins, IF it is repeated over and over and over again, by the whole stadium- that would be something.

Another question I want to pose is this- do we have really really old songs, like from the 30s, that we just don't sing? Arsenal have as rich a glorious history and tradition as there is in the English game, and no right-minded opposition fan can or does argue with that- our managers have revolutionised the game, Chapman, GG and Wenger's amazing feats (fact), european glory, finals, titles and titles, doubles, invincible feats, yet all we get is "Arsenal Arsenal.. " chants ad infinitum...

We've achieved things that no other club has, yet we don't celebrate it at all. Why not???

Sadly, I'm no wordsmith, so no compositions here, but I am always up for losing my voice!

100% True - But we have 3 basic options:

1. A 'Ready Made' (famous) Anthem/Song say for instance "Impossible Dream" - we keep all the words/lyrics And the Music.

2. A 'Ready Made' (famous) Anthem/Song say for instance "Impossible Dream" - Keeping the Music/Melody - But with amended lyrics to suit the Arsenal.

3. Hold a (Proper) 'Competition' for Gooner wordsmiths and musos to come up with something - THEN Have REDaction and the Club - organise a Vote for ' Members Only' (Silver, Gold, Red)

We Desparately Need an Anthem we can Call OUR OWN - That whenever people hear it - they automatically think of

ARSENAL!

As an arsenal fan for a good while now the only thing I dislike about our club is the atmosphere. I love the fact we have a redsection but there is never enough variation in the songs- it just arsenal fc, and the song to here we go (mainly)
I've seen at least 100 great songs at fanchants.co.uk or whatever and at least 20 don't get sung. These are the songs I like the most-
