haven't watched it yet - it's on the sky plus box. all i can say is that it seemed to feature about 40 minutes of questions and the real thing lasted an hour. maybe they cut out some of the more aggressive exchanges - there was the guy who had a pop at silvestre for example. would not be surprised if that was cut.

just got this email from someone also at the event who did watch the show in its entirety -

I have just watched Wengers Q/A on Arsenal TV, heavily edited. no row or criticism of players? feel like I went to a different event!

They kept the away fans are better than the away fans comment in and a couple of Bendtner in niteclub comments, but that was the extent of the discontent contained in the broadcast.

Wenger's right. The away support is top notch, the home support is shite.

And when he and I say shite, we mean that there's a certain proportion of the home crowd that wants to get on the back of certain players and sometimes the whole team. Yes, it happened in the 60s and 70s, but it was down to a small minority, it wasn't constant and was overlooked because the home support was generally very good.

Wenger must know that Arsenal home supporters are increasingly middle-class people who have to sit down for the games and won't go out of their way to shout for the boys. Traditional British reserve. So we're back to the arguments about creating a big standing area where you can generate a lot of noise which will encourage those who feel a bit timid or embarassed. More noise = better atmosphere = better results = everybody feeling a bit better about themselves and their club = more supporters = more money being spent by supporters= happy bank manager. Arsenal have always been known for innovation since Herbert Chapman walked out of Gillespie Road tube station; it needs somebody now with that vision and enterprise.

from what ive read heavily cut :banghead: even at that i still think wenger was embarressing with some of his excuses for answers he couldnt even remember the score at stamford bridge saying it was 3-2 when bob wilson had to correct him  he did look shook up a bit and just kept talking the same balls about beleif, i wish someone could count how many times he said that word :banghead: he would make a great politician as he never directly answers the questions asked and just works his way round them.so overall( :D )another favourite word of his i think and hope that it has finally sunk in that most fans are not happy with the way things are going i know most was cut out but he did look really uncomfortable.

First point is that the questioning was always going to be edited, no shocks there. I think ramon's points are the most valid, who would you really replace Arsene with? to give names like Moyes, Van Gaal and Rijkard does little to answer the question. Rijkard's spell at barcelona hardly went well towards the end. As for Van Gaal success and trophies have hardly been in large amounts since he left Ajax in 1997. Moyes is a good manager but hes the sort of manager that works very hard and within his means, would he really command as much respect as Wenger and play a brand of football that would be deemed entertainment? I doubt any of these individuals would do a better job. We all need to keep faith in Wenger's ability, see where the club is in 2011 when his contract runs out and then judge him. If you want instant success and the reckless pursuit of big money stars go and watch Chelsea. Wenger is a genius and hes put this club on a new level and he deserves the chance to put some of the wrongs of this season right and I believe he will.

I dont want to offend you here mate but that is utter generalised bullshit  Fans want to give the players stick do they ? Do you honestly feel that some fans would rather have an unsuccessful team that they can abuse rather than a team that sweeps all before them ? If you answer yes to that then I am wasting my time here cos you would rather have a pop than actually acknowledge anything rationally. I am one of the fans who is very unhappy with the team that represents us nowadays and some of the players in particular but I am also one of those that bemoans the fact that we are no longer allowed to stand up and sing at matches and you will feel that the vast vast majority of the "realists" on here are also in both camps. What you have done is take one group of fans (the realists) and lumped them in with another group of fans (those that dont sing) and christened them all as middle class shit supporters  I'll bet a lot of thought went into analysing that eh ?

Anyway saying as you like maths and working out equations and the like how about I throw this one at you -
more investment in players = better quality players = better quality team = more successful team = much happier bunch of supporters = better atmosphere = even more demand for tickets = higher ticket prices = more revenue for the club

Do you see how simple it is for the board/manager to make genuine efforts to improve the quality of the team by bringing in better quality players than we already have and yet the knock on effect can actually increase revenue ?

For the love of jesus fcuking christ can we please please please stop asking who is better out there that can replace wenger ? When GG and Rioch departed how many of you fools said lets go for this french guy that is coaching in japan by the name of arsene wenger ? I will bet my fcuking life not one of you heard of him and considered him for the job but yet now that he has been here for so long and brought the success that he did you lot seem to think that he is irreplaceable

Maybe you are partially right......the wenger of 5 or 6 years ago was irreplaceable but the wenger of today is far from it. You dont keep a player on indefinately at the club due to sentimental reasons cos he won a load of trophies in the past so why should a manager be any different ?
