I think Arsene knows he is better of at the center of midfield but is just trying new tacticks out, we don't have much cover on the left so hopefully will buy a left midfielder in january.

when thomas is out he is probly the best player we have that can play on the left. like thomas he likes to cut in on his right which some people think is a big problem but with our ever growing talent at left and right back who needs wide men??
diaby does like to get forward also more than the other central midfielders and is gettin more and more confident with his shooting. aslong as hes got clicy or traore ovelapping, left midfield suits him fine.

playing diaby out left also gets flamini and now diarra after last nites show more games in the middle which is good for the team.

It gets him games I suppose, which he does seem to need, but he has far from convinced there and think is our weak point when he is shoved out wide. Would prefer another left midfielder personally in January

Weak point?

Granted its not his best position but when Swiss Phil and Song are on the pitch, regardless of last nights performances, I would say thats fucking harsh if not absurd!

Song, by all accounts I have heard, played well last night and he isn't that bad a player as people make out. Senderos, ok, maybe the weak point but at least he defends well at times, when Diaby plays on the left he offers no protection to the fullback and as long as he doesn't go inside as easily as Derby let him, he offers nothing going forward.

Hleb? :P

Ok, since he scored against Derby and set up a goal against Newcastle, if he does something significant I'll change it to "but once a game at the moment, he does something significant when on the left" which isn't a bad thing to have.
