BIG WILLY TO LEAVE ?
BIG WILLY TO LEAVE ?
The form of William Gallas has been one of few positives when conversing about Arsenal's rear-guard, and the Frenchman - who seems to have been granted a new footballing lease of life since the seizure of his captain's armband - has attracted interest from Ligue 1 heavyweights, Paris Saint Germain, and Olympique de Marseille.
According to Sport, speculation is rife in France that Arsenal - and Gallas - are ready to do business, with the Gunners perhaps using funds generated from the proposed sale to help finance a bid for long-term target Mamadou Sakho.
Any bid would presumably hinge on Arsenal having replacements in mind and, if Sakho proved too costly, then Newcastle United's Sebastien Bassong, Fulham's Brede Hangeland, Stoke City's Abdoulaye Faye, and Bolton Wanderer's Gary Cahill, could all be pursued.
Arsene Wenger, though, would no doubt be keen to hang on to his elder statesmen. He recently opined that if the club were to recruit this summer, then the player's brought in would have to be experienced, as his squad brags enough inexperience and rawness.

I think since he lost the captaincy Gallas played very well, albeit I think he only got his chance again due to injuries - i think he might of gone in January had Toure, Mikeal and Djourou stayed fit for a long period of time.
Im not a fan of him as a person, but he is a very good central defender in my opinion. and probably the best we have in the present squad.

Agreed, but requires a tall powerful centre-half to partner him, so he can mop up.....Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:I think since he lost the captaincy Gallas played very well, albeit I think he only got his chance again due to injuries - i think he might of gone in January had Toure, Mikeal and Djourou stayed fit for a long period of time.

Yep agree with that, hence the failings of the Toure-Gallas partnership - neither likes to get up for a header!franksav63 wrote:Agreed, but requires a tall powerful centre-half to partner him, so he can mop up.....Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:I think since he lost the captaincy Gallas played very well, albeit I think he only got his chance again due to injuries - i think he might of gone in January had Toure, Mikeal and Djourou stayed fit for a long period of time.

Willi is well past his best.
Would happily see the following go
- Gallas
- Dennilson
- Adebayor
All failed to impress this year.
Would also like to see the back of
- Almunia (not the imposing figure we need)
and arguably
- RVP. Still injured too often.
- Rosicky (see above).
Invest in
- Flamini (keen to return)
- Tevez (use funds from Adebayor)
- Shay Given (if we can prise him away).
- Any experinced hard centre back (probably Europe based).
Squad needs a good freshen up in my opinion.
Keep the faith with Diaby, Eduardo,

You have as much chance of that happening as getting a blow-job from a nun....Step wrote:Willi is well past his best.

I think will see one of either Galass or Toure go and will be sad either way.
Regarding the one I want to stay.....My heart says Kolo but my Head says Galass.
