Ade - We three will remain

Post by projoe »

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes that manager Arsene Wenger and captain Cesc Fabregas will join him in staying at the club.

A number of reports have suggested Togo international Adebayor could leave in the summer, with AC Milan said to be interested.

But the powerful striker insisted on Tuesday that he is happy at Emirates Stadium and intends to remain in North London.

Like Adebayor, Wenger and Fabregas have been regularly linked with exits, with Spain mooted as a potential destination for the duo now that the season has ended.

However, Adebayor firmly believes that Wenger, a reported target of Real Madrid, remains 100 per cent committed to the Gunners.

"It's impossible to see Wenger leaving, it would be like a father abandoning his sons," he told Spanish Sports daily Marca.

Father
"They love him at the club, the fans too. He is used to English life, if he wins trophies he would stay here for life. The players also want him."

Of Spain midfielder Fabregas, a player continually linked with a return to his homeland, Adebayor said: "It's difficult to imagine an Arsenal without Cesc.

"At his age he is already the most loved at the club, he is a model on and off the pitch and we are happy to have him with us.

"For me it is an honour to play with him, he has quality, personality, he has made Arsenal and Arsenal have made him.

One day
"I think he is happy here, he feels at home. I think he will stay for several years more, he is loved, he has everything here, I believe he will continue but it is (his) decision."

Adebayor stressed he is content at Arsenal but conceded he could look for a move to Primera Division in the future.

He added: "I have a contract and I want to win titles in England. In a few years I might go to Spain but at the moment I am happy here.

"One day why not, in two or three years...now I am happy in England."

I'd be happy too if I was getting the sort of money he does without having to break sweat or do trivial things like learning the offside rule

Adebayor plans Arsenal stay
Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted he is happy at Arsenal and is growing tired of speculation about his future.

The Togo international has been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium and the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City are all reportedly interested.

Adebayor admits it is flattering to be connected with Milan but he has no intention of leaving the Gunners.

He said: "All I can say is I am a footballer and if a club like Milan are interested in me then I cannot lie to you, I am happy, because it is Milan.

"But the thing is that it stops there - I am very happy playing for Arsenal, and this is what I always say.

"At the end of the day you just get bored of this - people read these things and then the fans will boo you for what you never said, but again I repeat that I am very happy here.

"I have got nothing to say to anybody. People are always there to judge - but they are not on the pitch, they are writing what they want to.

"This season I have given 100 per cent of what I have, and I'm looking forward to coming back next season and trying to achieve things.

"I don't care what we have to do to win something - we have got to do whatever it takes to bring trophies home."

Pressure
Adebayor maintains that he should not be criticised for his performances during an injury-plagued season, when he has failed to hit the heights of last term.

"When you score 30 goals in a season you can expect that the following year there will be a little bit more pressure and attention on you," Adebayor told the June issue of the official Arsenal magazine.

"If you want to be a big player you have to manage this and find a solution - that is what I have been trying to do this time.

"I cannot say I'm very proud of my season, but I'm not too upset about how the way things have gone either. I have been injured several times since August, and before this I had never had an injury of longer than a week or two in my professional career."

maybe he got another raise
the worse thing for me is if he stays then wenger will continue to pick him and that will weaken the side as that lazy bastard wont learn the offside rule or break a sweat in most game and yet never gets subbed :banghead:

The thing that gets me is he is so deluded that he thinks he can comment on things like this. If i were him i would be keeping my head down during the summer and hoping the animosity from the fans subsides instead he says things like Wenger and Cesc will stay with me as if he is the main man!!!!!! :banghead:

If he shuts the fuck up between now and the start of the season, knuckles down, puts in 100%, gets his head down, and repeats the form of not this season just gone but the one before that (30 goals) will you lot finally get off his back?

I don't like him too much anyway, to be honest, but I'm pretty sure if he was to go, there aren't many suitbale replacements at all. So fuck it, I'd stick.

As I've said before, he scored 30 not so long ago and he still has time on his side to improve etc.

Don't get me wrong, his attitude also pisses me off big time, and I've even once said I'd rather start Bendtner ahead of him  but many players have off seasons. What did Santa Cruz do this season compared to the last? I reckon we should keep him. Simply because we can't afford to lose first team players and then bring in inadequate replacements, like last season. :banghead:

A 90 year old man with a wooden leg would be an adequate replacement for the way he played last season :banghead: :banghead:

I cannot even begin to contemplate the possibility that this greedy lazy *word censored* will be still at the club next season even though I did say that it was a strong possibility a few weeks ago :( As has already been stated barring a major miracle greedybarndoor would have to take a pay cut cos nobody else out there is stupid enough to pay the cut that much and as he recently stated in an interview, it is all about the money now  The fact that wenger is so bloody stubborn also doesnt help our bid to have the *word censored* sold as he will be sure to want to show who is in charge now  I wonder if the very real possibility of milan failing to qualify for the champs league two seasons in a row has influenced his decision to remain as well ?

Maybe I am over simplfying things here but I do feel that either wenger or the board should be aware of the depth of hatred and bitterness this *word censored* has generated and make the decision to sell him to the first realistic bidder - I find it impossible to think that scoring 20 goals next season will alter the fans opinions of him and selling him might lift a lot of the negative aura around the club now
