Yep, I will watch this one. I know 3 Toffee season ticket holders ( mum, dad&son) who went 2 the semi & i'm not sure if they are going 2 it but I would expect so.They travel in the order of 140 miles each way for home games! I know what people mean about it being a yawning affair, but I think they are a great traditional club with a great old traditional ground, & Moyes is doing a fab job considering his financial restraints & his injury list this season. That Zcars theme makes my hair stand on end & I hope we hear it properly on saturday ( christ, i'm turning into a closet fan!) Would rather visit Goodison than Anfield anytime! Makes " The Wonder Of You" seem artificial- what's wrong with Good Old Arsenal for god's sake- I find it really embarrasing when I see those words up there on our screens prior to every game- it must terrify the opposition fans!
Back 2 saturday- could be like our marathon against Sheff Weds ( the last one I went to) Come on you TOFFEES

I agree with Flash - it was always a big event sitting watching with my dad, flicking between BBC and ITV.
Going to Wembley has been devalued by the semi's being held there (even tho it was a good experience to go there), and I'm sad to say the final doesnt have the attraction it used to.
Not sure if I will watch although I would love to see Everton wipe that smug smile off Cashleys face........

Unbelievable how far the FA cup final has dropped in popularity over the years. It really was a massive national occaision when I first started watching them in the late 60s. I'd go down the town about 7am and buy the programme from the newsagents, (yes, yer local newsagent would sell the FA cup final programme) then wait for the start of Grandstand/World Of Sport about 9am and watch 6 hours of build up to the match while getting more and more excited no matter who the final was between. The first one I have any real memory of is the Chelsea v Leeds final in 1970 which was a classic game, can't remember who I wanted to win but it did'nt matter, it seemed like the most exciting occaision possible and fortunately we were back a year later so all the excitement was more than doubled
This year? I'll probably be in a boozer somewhere so will look at the screen every now and then in the hope that Everton score, if the wee Fulham club are winning my interest will be minimal to say the least. How times have changed

I remember that too Charlie, getting the F.A. cup programme from the local sweet shop... Wonder when they stopped doing that?charliegeorgewhocanhitem wrote:Unbelievable how far the FA cup final has dropped in popularity over the years. My 1st memory of a fa cup final was the 1967 chelsea v spurs game.
spurs won 2-1
