Well done Spuds!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well done Spuds!!

Post by MK Gould »

I just want to say a big well done to our neighbours for a great comeback against Villa tonight, albeit that's its a pity they had to concede twice as many goals in an hour as we've conceded at home in 4 games. And that against a Villa team who had only scored 6 in 7 games before tonight. No, what am I saying, it was still a great comeback!

A lot of people wrongly think that Spuds are doing badly, whereas I think they are having a truly great season. Tonights point takes them - almost - out of the relegation zone. And they are now only 13 points behind Wengers third great Arsenal team and with minus one game in hand.

So the next time you hear someone slagging off Roly poly Jol(ly) then tell them to shut the f*ck up and let him finish the job he has started....

Their celebrations were pathetic and stupid, they are still third from botton and a laughing stock.

TONIGHT'S RESULT, ALTHOUGH IN A SENSE DISAPPOINTING BECAUSE THE SPUDS RESCUED A DRAW, JUST RE-AFFIRMED TO ME THAT I AM RIGHT TO BEHAVE IN THE CAUTIOUS WAY I DO. :?

LET ME EXPLAIN. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT I CAN NEVER TRUELY RELAX UNLESS WE ARE THREE GOALS CLEAR AND THERE ARE ONLY TWO MINUTES OF INJURY TIME TO PLAY!!

EVEN IF WE ARE AHEAD BY THREE GOALS AT HALF-TIME, I STILL CAN'T PROPERLY RELAX BECAUSE I HAVE THIS DREAD THAT IF THE OPPOSITION SCORE FIRST WHEN PLAY COMMENCES, THEY WILL COME BACK AND BEAT US!

TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THAT I CAN ONLY REALLY ENJOY OUR GREAT RESULTS ONCE THE FINAL WHISTLE HAS BLOWN BECAUSE I'M ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT IT GOING PEAR-SHAPED. THEREFORE I DON'T LIKE MAKING PREDICTIONS OR TAKING THINGS FOR GRANTED UNTIL THEY ARE FINALLY SETTLED.

I'M ABSOLUTELY THE SAME WHEN IT COMES TO WANTING OTHER TEAMS TO WIN/LOSE GAMES AND THROUGH-OUT TONIGHT'S SPUD V VILLA MATCH WOULDN'T START CELEBRATING EVEN WHEN THEY WERE 1-3 AND THEN 1-4 DOWN - BECAUSE I KEPT IMAGINING THAT THE SPUDS WOULD COME BACK AND WIN 4-3 OR 5-4!!

I SUPPOSE IT'S SOME KIND OF SELF-DEFENCE AGAINST BEING ON A HIGH AND THEN SUDDENLY BEING LET DOWN. HOWEVER, ON SO MANY OTHER OCCASIONS - LIKE THE C.L. GAME AGAINST CHELSEA IN 2004 WHICH I JUST KNEW WEEKS BEFOREHAND WE WOULD END UP LOSING - IT HAS WORKED FOR ME AND HAS HELPED IN A VERY SMALL WAY TO EASE THE PAIN OF A BAD RESULT.

SAD, I KNOW, BUT I HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS FOR A LONG, LONG TIME AND DON'T EXPECT TO CHANGE ANY TIME SOON AS IT SEEMS TO WORK FOR ME!

I hate to agree with my Belarussian dissing, drugged up friend - but I must on this occasion.

Living in Hackney has not completely f**ked him up (yet).

Good work.

Spuds 'revival'!

Tottenham showed they have the fight to become a 'top 17' team, one point ahead of Derby you can see they are really going places!

Fair play to little Tottenham for getting something out of that game...
Suppose its one point closer to the all important 40-point mark..
