5 things we love about walcott

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Playing him down the middle where he can use his pace might help

Psycho is backing Arsenal ace Walcott to deliver and said: "Theo has blistering pace and in the modern day it is a great commodity."

So we all agree on his pace then......

The same physco didnt think much of theo when he subbed him after 45mins v the finns and had him as a sub in the next 2 games as well  He wouldnt be talking him up at all if he wasnt so short of strikers tonight

His finishing, at times, is little short of woeful at the mo

He needs to be aware of blind alleys and stop fcuking running down them :banghead:

He needs to get himself out of the media interviews and knuckle down and improve so that the performances actually match the hype
I agree with this 100%

Most games he plays he leaves me feeling frustrated with the way he has played, and for all the reasons Augie has listed, the amount of times he takes the wrong option and takes it into the tackle, the amount of times he provides a merningless chipped cross that is blocked 9 times out of 10, and his refusal to take defenders on that havent got half his pace! IT INFURIATES ME, the lad has clearly got a lot of potential, time to use it!

The second of those sub games was England reserves, been a bit disturbing if he had played that one. Started the semi

He is young, he is improving, his crossing is far better then it was but got to improve on beating his man and anticipation.

I still have faith ih Theoo and still believe he can become a huge success.

Wenger himself has to take some blame for his slow progress though. Last year he ststed that Walcott was not a wide player and that he would no longer play him there, it was hampering his progress apparently!

Erm Arsene......................

I think his finishing would badly let him down as a forward, he is not very good in front of goal, not at the moment anyway, maybe he would improve given the chance to?

There is something there in Theo, but is finishing is very diaby-like, sublime (Villareal) or ridiculous.

I think Wenger may have wanted to move him upfront but isnt sure if he has the ability to do it yet. Great to have pace, but you cant rely on that all the time.

Plenty of time for the boy though, intresting to see how he gets on tonight as a lone striker!

i would love too see more brits succeed at the arsenal but only if they are good enough and not because of what there passport says, but sid hit the nail on the head there cos if theo was anything but english then every gooners patience would have worn thin by now with his headless chicken impersonations

i think part of is that he seems like a nice guy, rather than most english footballers who have to drive 500k cars cheat on thier wifes, shag grannies, and stick phones up thier arses.
