Getting 25m for the greedy crunt makes me happy , only thing that worries me slightly is can we finish in the top 4 next year . With Citeh's spending power if they signed a world class manager i would shit myself .

We talk about history and class etc ..... but at the end of the day none of that effects the result in the 90 minutes of each game . As much as i am proud of our history , class and style it means squat if Man city fueled by seemingly unlimited funds finish above us in the leauge . On the bright side if we spend all the money we get from the greedy sale i think we will be a stronger squad .

Please Mr Wenger forget about your economics degree for once and buy the top class defensive midfielder we desperately need to partner the cesc and make us genuine title contenders .

I have to say that I dont understand everybody rubbishing citeehs chances based on the fact that hughes is their manager :? :? :?
The guy did a good job with blackburn and he has bought some good quality players whether we like to admit it or not. In my opinion his success or failure will depend on his ability to keep his players humble and not let personalities become more important than the team and if he does that and can get them to gel then they wont only be a serious threat to us but will also seriously challenge those above us :( Of course they are very big ifs but it would be foolish to disregard them just on the basis of their manager

I have already stated some time ago that man city will be in top 3 so that means us having to dislodge one of te other 3 :?

Their home form last year was one of the best in the league so when they sort out their away form it really will hit the fan

djhdjh wrote:I think everyone is making the mistake of thinking we sold the 30 goal a season Adebayor. That would have been a mistake - that player was one of the best strikers in the world. We're selling a bloke who evidently couldn't be bothered last season and other than a few moments of magic really didn't contribute to the level required and didn't fit in with our style of play because he stopped just getting in the box antried to join in the build up and slowed it down all the timed . It would have been the same story this season and it will be even more the same story when he doubles his money at Man City. As I said Bendtner scored almost as many goals with many less starts.
If you watch our strikers they all drift out to the flank or deep throughout the game, it's not a coincidence they are obviously been told to do it, it's a tactic that if used properly works well, the problem is we have no one in midfield that runs into the space the strikers leave when they vacate the middle.
You can be paranoid about what may happen to the money, I think the club realise that the situation with the fans has changed and that if that money doesn't get spent there will be a real problem if things don't go right. At least it will give us a chance of getting the right players in, there wasn't one before
.

The club think we are stupid, it's that simple, they did the same last summer, at the beginning of the summer they made noises that they had intentions of really doing something about our weaknesses but as the summer wore on and the fans voices faded in their mind they made nothing but half hearted attempts at strengthening us properly.

The manager knows there is no real pressure on him and the board have no real pressure on them so no doubt we will see the same thing again this year. Neither like spending money and that won't change just because we have another 20+ million from the sale of Ade they will still quibble about the pennies when trying to buy players and therefore will still fail to buy anyone of substance to strengthen us to the level necessary.

Radio 5 are saying he's having a medical.
Augie, I do believe you can get that can of Guinness out of the fridge that you've been saving for special occasions and open it my son.

That's the easy bit, now comes the hard bit...spending the dosh!!
