I’d rather have Jabba than Silent Stan

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I’d rather have Jabba than Silent Stan

The author doesn't quite explain why he'd prefer Usmanov over Kroenke. Is it really just because he has a box and attends more games? That's not good enough.

There's no reason to think Kroenke's in it just for money because if he was, he'd take his stake over 30% and force a takeover so all if any money Arsenal does make, goes straight into his pocket.

Abramovich has lent the money to Chelsea on a "soft loan". When he tires of them, he's going to want his money back. Just because he's not making any money now (which he isn't) doesn't make him praise worthy. They bought those two titles and they only won because the other top three teams were in rebuilding stage.

I’d rather have Jabba than Silent Stan - joking right?

Mike, I suggest you read Craig Murray on the internet to find many reasons as to why Usmanov shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our football club.
As far as I am aware Stan Kroenke has never been imprisoned under any circumstances.
You might also want to speak to some other bloggers who have been threatened with legal action because somebody didnt like what was being said about them.

Usmanov is lower than low. He is totally and utterly undesirable. He is a manure supporting toad who only switched to Arsenal when he was able to buy Dein's shares. Who in turn only sold them to him to piss Fiszman off - other than to trouser £40m of course. Fer feck's sake - Sugar is a more suitable character to have as a director and I detest him beyond belief.
Anyone who wants Usmanov within a million miles of our club wants their head examined. Turning up for the odd game because you live in London is no reason to want him owning the club.

If you want to have Usmanov more involved that is pretty easy to poke holes at. Kroenke, on the other hand, actually has experience owning other professional sports teams. On top of that, he has more money than Usmanov (for all of you dying for a benefactor). His wife is an heiress to the Wal-Mart fortune. Combined they have $5.6B compared to $1.6B for Jabba the Hut. Plus, he'd be a lot more likely to keep our model of sustainability. The club has been around for a long time. Let's not lose focus of the long term just because a few teams are splashing money around.
