we don't need to replace adebayor

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

a local newspaper here in brazil recently published an article saying that the eduardo's choice to play for croatia is probably the biggest tragedy for brazil since losing the 1998 world cup final. i'll look if it's available on the web and publish a translated link here.

but anyway, i really don't see why he can't fill adebayor's boots. he reminds of romario, probably one of the best center forwards in football history. icredible finishing and composure in front of goal, and great intelligence on the pitch, incomparably greater than adebayor's (does he even think?).

and now he's having a whole pre-season to get fit. the boy is not injury prone, unless someone decides to break his legs in 8 pieces again :(

With Stuttgart. Sad but true.
Huntelaar would be my first choice to replace Ade (beforehand it was Benzema).

But imo AW should spend the money on a world class DM, not a new striker.
AA, Eddie, RVP should score enough goals.
Vela, Walcott, Bendtner hopefully getting better!

He may well be close to a deal with stuttgart but he aint signed for them yet so we shouldnt be standing around while all the better players are moving around. Seriously if you gave huntelaar a choice between signing for stuttgart and coming to play for The Arsenal alongside rvp and his old ajax team-mate vermallen where do you think that he would want to play for ?

You are right.
But with AW in constant hesitation we might be too late.
Anyway, I would spend the money out of the Ade-Citeh transfer (if it goes through at all) for a world class DM.

Let's hope Wellington Beefs up enough to be able to but the Boot in! He'll need to have his feet firmly on the ground but this is a massive step forward.

No one is calling him injury prone in the RVP sense. But he may now begin to pick up those niggling injuries more regularly as he tries to achieve full fitness. It is common after such a bad injury. I'd honestly say we can't be sure he will be as good or as reliable as he was before the break.

I hope to Christ he is, but there is no guarantee...

He was picking up knock after knock long before he broke his leg. I think the physical side if the prem was causing him problems.
