I agree with everything in this article! Good rant.

So glad to see the back of him. I also feel we will gel more as a team without him and his negative attitudes.

The most gutting thing about this whole sorry saga from my point of view is that as a club we are not prepared to keep experienced and trophy winning stars like Pires and we fuck Dennis around on his final deal (who like Giggs and Scholes were well capable of making a lesser but still worthy contribution) But we fall at the feet of greedy and delusioned upstarts like Adebayor.

As much as i hate him i can't ignore his one good season but he's always been a lazy *word censored*, right back to the arse end of the blackcurrant year when Wenger would n't play him at home because we would n't show him enough patience. I always look back to the last ever derby game at highbury, when RVP was screaming at him to help close down defenders but he could n't be bothered -in a must win game! The next season he got a few good goals but was ultimately was just a shit dancer partner for thierry henry and 07/08 apart, last season he reverted to the player he always was and will always be.

If the citeh fans found robinho infuriating at times last year then just imagine how they'll take to a player with less than half his skill but who is twice as lazy

Good riddance to a massive *word censored*[/quote]

A well written piece, he was always offside, lazy and incredibly overrated! We've lost bigger players than this bloke so i'm not too fussed if we bother to use the good deal we've got to replace his sorry ass, we'll be fine without him and citeh fans will soon realise their shit manager has bought a donkey soon enough, GOOD RIDDANCE! :barscarf:

This is a really good post and point. Like the first post said, there is little dedication these days in football. When Cole left I was really p****ed off.

I sincerely hope that Wenger buys, but we know that if he wanted the greedy bugger to stay, this would of happened. I recently heard that he already has a young replacement lined up..!

Despite mugging us off Adebeyor is no mug.

He kissed our badge last year and is now on Sky Sports saying he will show city fans he loves their club! Says it all.

Im not angry with him in the same way i was Cashley and Anelka as we missed their talents but despised their attitudes. This guy is in a catagory of his own. A decent finisher given enough chances at best and we got £25m for him when we all would have taken £5-10m as long as he p*ssed off!

It would be refreshing if he came out and said city made him an offer he couldnt refuse as he needs to think of his life after football but end of the day who cares, the saga is over and we got £25m!!

I dont think he deserves the rath of our fans when he plays at Emirates next year...perhaps we could all just laugh at the Citeh board and Hughes with banners they cant have their money back!!!

Thank God Wenger can,t select him now!

Post by Telarse »

i don't doubt for a second that Wenger would have continued to select Adebeyor regardless of his laziness and lack of goals. Wenger has proven already over the last 2 seasons, to my mind since the infamous Birmingham game, that Adebayor could do no wrong in Wenger's eyes.
Wenger goes on about not blocking progress of younger players but persisted in playing that tube! I'm sure Bentner would have developed far more quickly had he received the amount of support and faith Wenger gave Adebayor. I believe Wenger ruined Bentner's confidence last season by showing him that no matter how hard he works or contributes to the team he's just there 'til cuntybollocks gets fit.
I don't want another big centre forward,Bentner will do for me if we need one.
Play Arshavin in his correct position, play Fabregas in his correct position and decide whether Eduardo, Bentner, Walcott or VanPersie (that's my order of preference) is the centre forward.
Bring back Flamini and show him some of support and faith i.e. don't let his contract run down, don't buy another Diarra and don't let him play his heart out out of position only to drop him when we reach a champions league final.
P.S. Big Phil was doing great alogside Billy G until great athlete but crap footballer Kolo returned from African nations season before last.
Wenger is the best manager in the world but he's not infallible - I'm releived that he has lost the power to select Adebayor.

Well said Telarse, although don't let the official forum find out you're saying that Arsene is not infallible.

Every time I read or hear a supporter blasting a player for leaving their club for a bigger contract I have to laugh.
What you don't seem to realise is to a professional footballer playing football is a job, a job that may only spand 15 years of his life. and maybe 8 years at the peak of his ability.
Adebayor was paid for playing football for Arsenal, if shortly before Arsenal signed him Chelsea had offered a similar contract he may have gone there. He has no loyalty to our club or any other, he goes where he can get the most for his ability. Is there any man who would not jump at the chance of seeing his salary virtually doubled?
I remember on numerous occasions I would see dear old Ray Parlour in William Hills on match days about 1.30 a true gooner if ever there was one. If Liverpool or Man Utd had offered to double his wages to move up north I am sure you would not have seen his arse for dust.
I have no problem watching Adebayor leave on a footballing aspect, vastly over rated, a gangly Carlton Cole, but please leave the loyalty crap out of it, anyone can kiss a badge when it suits them.
Loyalty is commendable, but a footballer (Le Tissier excepted) is like every one else basically, show me the money!

Good rant, for for 25M I think he will be better gone. He scored some good goals, but his team effort was crap.

Good riddance if you ask me. And well said on all your points re: the article. If anything, we got the deal of the century for selling him to City for 'that' price!! I remember I was shitting it, when he was having doubts thinking of staying instead of joining city - Thank god he moved though bcoz if he stayed, his laziness and negativity would have sooner or later infected the rest of the squad - I wouldnt be suprised if he's still telling Fab 4 to leave too.

So he larged it in front of us ..............So what !

Granted if I had been there I might have run on and chinned him ,but at the end of the day football fans cannot expect players not to react when bieng coated.

The man is a *word censored* but ive allready forgotten about him

I am so sick of people moaning about this and that with football and turning it into a media pissing contest that I almost yearn for a return to the days and have several hundred hooligans sweep the terraces clear of the tossers who now support us !

Arsenal Nouveau ? I shit em !

Totally agree with you Herd, and in fact does the moneygrabbing mercenary himself make a fair point re the fans in his interview for the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... dtner.html)?

Granted he put in sod all effort last year but do our 'fans' honestly think there is truly a human out there who wouldn't at least have his head turned by the prospect of trebling his wages for doing the same job? Cesc is biding his time til he's good enough to replace Xavi or Iniesta, but we all still worship him. And he's an arrogant little tw@t at times too.

It's too easy for cowboy tabloid journos to dictate fans' perceptions of the club and players. If you can be bothered to pay the extortionate prices the club charge then do your job and support the team. Until the final whistle. I tired so much of having to stand up incessantly while those around me left the ground early that I have moved seats. It remains to be seen whether I'll just experience more of the same......
