RIP - THE BEAR

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Know of him and seen him at Arsenal many times. Think he was a regular in the East Upper if im not mistaken - well thats where i saw him most around 10 seasons ago.

He is an Arsenal legend and probably our most notorious fan.

Sad to hear the news.

USED TO REGULARLY SEE DENTON IN THE CLOCK-END (WITH HIS COUSIN?) DURING THE EARLY TO MID 80's.

LOOKING AT THE PICTURE WAYNO PUT UP, HE SURE HAS CHANGED FROM HOW I REMEMBER HIM AND LOOKS A LOT HEAVIER. MIND YOU, IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I LAST SAW HIM.

RIP DENTON - LEGEND AND ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT STOPPED OTHER FANS TAKING THE PISS OUT OF ARSENAL!! :(

I remember Denton from the eighties.

He was hilarious, he had everyone who was in earshot of his running commentaries, in stitches.

He used to be skinny though didn't he ? Are you sure thats him in that pic ?

Anyway I never even spoke to the bloke, but I liked him.

A TRUE HERD GOONA. R.I.P.

Knew of him and know people who knew him. Sad news, maybe him and Johnny Hoy are up in that great Highbury in the sky planning to ambush the spuds somewhere. RIP Arsenal legend

My dad just told me earlier today. Apparently, he was a security guard for the Pet Shop Boys when out on tour in Russia.

Never forget when Thomas scored the winner in 89 and Denton was on the pitch jumping up and down like a kid :D

Sad to see him go but I'm sure he'll be looking down tomorrow and cheering on the Gunners!

Rest In Peace Denton! x
