Almunia has been dodgy this season, he played well against Man City and Prague in the second leg but otherwise has been dodgy, he sometimes makes good saves but will then make errors like he did today. He failed against the big teams last year and if he fails to play better then he has so far this season against Liverpool and Man U, we will lose. Once Jens is fully fit, play him.

because Almunia has never played well in big games, has had a run this season and been so dodgy? Future is good but that is Fab, if we are to fight for the title, we need a keeper who can win us games. Almunia can only cost us, Jens at least can win games even while hampered by injuries as well as cost us

Sorry Magic Hat but have to strongly disagree with you mate. Jens has become a bit of a liability and I think all his good points are totally cancelled out by his bad points. If he had played today don't you think that (at 2-2) the Sunderland players would have been at him. Jostling him, barging him and treading on his toes. We all have a pretty good idea how Jens would have reacted to that.
Whilst Almunia may not be the long term answer, he is the immidiate solution and Fabianski has not been seen enough for us to form any kind of opinion.

I'm with Magic: Lehmann's a dickhead but in terms of pure ability, even though he's on the decline, he's still better than Almunia. I'm glad Almunia's been given a run but once Lehmann's ready, I'd like to see him back. He made two terrible mistakes but he's shown in the past he can get over bad patches when stood down from the first team for a while and come back as strong as ever.
After this season, there is a tricky decision to be made, I hope, since, likeable as he is, Almunia just won't cut it. Fabianski may be the answer but not sure he'll be ready next summer to be our No1.

I too am with magic hat(1st time for everything) and believe that when it comes down to natural ability almunia isnt in jens class. We all know that jens has made 2 serious cock ups this season but history has shown us that he normally comes back with a vengance. Almunia in goal just does not fill me with confidence i'm afraid and while i admit he has done ok of late I also believe that he has gotten away lucky with a few clangers as well where he may have been punished more. As for the "lets play almunia cos he is the future" theory ??? If he is the long term number 1 then we cant rate fabiniski too highly can we ?

How are people judging Fabianski?
Please tell me your knowledge of goalkeeping and how you have followed Fabianski's career?
If Wenger has a weakness with signing players its goalkeepers!
By all means pass comment on Jens and Manuel as you have seen them but please dont use YouTube as the tool to big up Fabianski!

I'm hoping it isn't Almunia and since it can't be Jens for obvious reasons, I'm going to hope in Fab, he does have a promising reputation in a country that can train keepers. Even if he isn't him, it isn't Almunia from what I have seen, the future is somebody we have no idea who then? Better?
WinterburnsRightFoot, your right, they would go at him but that doesn't really worry me, he gets booked but only against Spurs have I seen it affect him to the point it harms him, he never seems to perform well against that lot. I don't think we would have conceded two either with a fully fit Jens out there.
