Why I sold the African duo to Man City

Why I sold the African duo to Man City

Post by TeeCee »

This is the headline of a story on Arsenal.com.............

Then you read it and Wenger says 'Sometimes you can't say much about why you sell players' - fuckin' hilarious, typical Wenger, talking bollocks!
The most worrying thing is, he has now said that Paddy could well come back. This means he won't - there's no way Wenger would have said it if it was going to happen.

The only thing that bothers me is that we're being lied to. If the club come out in the open and say that we're broke and have to make big payemnts back on the loans for the new concrete bowl then so be it, I accept that and act accordingly as a supporter. The thing that really fucks me off is the feeling that we're being taken for total mugs and idiots. Does anyone really believe that it's fine to sell Toure because we still have "seven centre backs"??? Wish we would just come out and admit it, we're broke, fucked bollocksed and there's as much chance of us winning the premier league this season as there is of me becoming next president of the USA. I've seen some great stuff supporting us over the years that I would'nt swap for anything but what we're seeing now is among the worst I've seen in me time. Bring back the mid 70s when we nearly got relegated, at least the club, fans and players were all on the same side. Nowadays I guess the club could'nt give a shit as long as those balti pies keep flying out to all the knobs who fuck off out to get them 15 minutes before half time

We certainly didn't look like a club brimming with an abundance of defensive options last season. A more pertinent answer to the above question would be, how many of those "seven centre backs" are better than Toure? IMO not one of them.

Still I've become accustomed to Arsenal moving more quality players out of the squad than they bring in. We weren't strong enough last year, subtract 2 players and add 1 and somehow we're now in the hunt for the title!!!

There is a tiny optimistic voice in the back of my mind somewhere that says Theo and Carlos will be net busting revelations, Gallas and Vermaeleen will form a rock solid partnership and so on and so on....but that voice gets smaller every year.

Without wishing to piss some of ye off by referring to anr but he rightly pointed out that 75% of money generated from player sales has to go back into the squad either by purchases or increased wages. I remember that fact being trotted out the time the grove project was close to completion so all the bollox about the club being broke is well and good but the vast majority of the recent african sales has to go back into the club

here is an indication of how sad the whole situation is right now......i am over the moon that paddy might be coming home, i am excited by the prospect of a 33 year old with a recent history of injuries and pathcy form who was coming to the top of the hill if not actually on the way down it when he left us four years ago.
That is how low my expectations are at the moment, can you imagine this happening say six years ago when we were a major power, its fucking laughable to be honest.
How did we get from a poisition of total dominance five years ago to this parody of a team, Wenger has no excuses this season , a shitload of money to spend and nothing to show for it.

....Yet.

Look the fact is Real and City have over inflated a market that by all accounts should be going through a down turn. Any club who see those two handing out shed loads of cash for average players who will be lost to the African Nations, are hanging on in case City or Real decide "Hold on, let us buy more average players at over the odds prices".

Wenger if anything will happily play brinkmanship all day long, as he did with Arshavin, and try and pick up players at reduced prices when clubs realise the money rich clubs aint going to come calling.

Ad-ebay-whore and king sized Kolo, who both underperformed last year are now a big miss to some people

While I agree Wenger is drinking in the last chance saloon this season, I will reserve pressing the panic button until I hear the transfer window bang shut.

Wenger talks up the players but doesn't back it up on the pitch.
The worst thing is he thinks the supporters are idiots. "In England they think buying solves everything".
Well it would fucking help to clean up the mess he created.

I can take defeat, money problems etc.

One thing I can't take is being blatantly lied to.

Nobody is panicing at the player sales and nobody, bar a very small number (3  ) on here will argue that the sales of the african players was wrong. What is rightly causing a panic is that while wenger is playing this gamesmanship thing that he soo dearly loves, the seasons kick off is just 2 weeks away and as we have a tough start we cannot wait for him to finish fannying about on aug 31st to bring in reinforcements

Exactly my point. Wenger seems to do this season after season, delaying transfers.

Everyone on here would agree he needs to pull his finger out his arse and buy the players we need sharpish!

On the Vieira note, I would be happy to see him come back, not only as a player (although I dont think he will play much) but as a mentor to all the younger players in the team. Denilson, Song, Diaby can all learn from this great man and make our team better on the whole!

and yet every season (he did it again this time) he says that he wants to bring signings in quickly so they go through pre-season training. Why continually say things that you have no intention of doing? Lying fuckwit.

Another good quote regarding selling Greedy and king size to Man Shitty...."Once you decide to sell someone, you can't control who they go to"
Actually Arsene you can, as the club that owns the contract you can turn offers down from a certain club therefore preventing the sale. Lying fuckwit. (I'm not moaning about them being sold to city, just the pathetic bollox that Wenger wants to feed to fans)

Personally if we had pele, maradona, cryuff and zico training him I dont think diaby would learn  With song it isnt a case of learning as such but he does need to understand the need for urgency when it comes to waddling his big arse tracking back. Denilson I feel is the only one of the 3 that has a genuine chance of learning and I feel that he would be the only one willing to learn
