Bergkamp

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bergkamp

Post by norfbankN16 »

Just wanted remind you all that he was and always will be a fucken legend!
Of all of the goals he scored and created, the one against the relegated barcodes has to be one that will never ever be repeated in the history of football.

Ahhh, I miss that speed of movement. We used to take the piss out of teams with play like that...

We have all heard (and maybe used) the term Beautiful Football, but some of the things that Denis Bergkamp did on the pitch were not just Beautiful Football - But literally Poetry In Motion , this unbelievable goal is an example of that...When I first saw it on MOTD - It was like WTF!!!!??? .....and a friend of mine who is a Newcastle Utd supporter who was at the game telephooned me an d said "It is the finest Goal I have ever, EVER Seen"..I agree 1000%...I can watch it a hundreds of times, and every time I do - I still find myself shaking my head in disbelief, it didn't happen by accident or lucky bounce of the ball or whatever - he thought about it - designed it, and Did It!....all in a few blinks of the eye.....There was, Is and Only Ever Shall be:

:barscarf: ONE DENIS BERGKAMP! :barscarf:

GENIUS - LEGEND - And My Footballing HERO! Bar None!! :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Oh How I miss him :(

The Dennis was/is a God amongst mortals. That goal against the barcodes is my favourite goal of all time because of the technique involved, the balance, strength, skill, the sheer fucking audacious genius to even try it... wonderful. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
