Micah dreams of playing for Arsenal one day

Post by stearmaster »

Micah Richards has revealed he wants to play for his boyhhod idols Arsenal.

The England defender grew up worshipping Highbury legends Ian Wright and Patrick Vieira.

And despite interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United since breaking into the national team, the Manchester City star has revealed his ambition is to sign for Arsene Wenger's team.

He told Nuts magazine: "I was a big Ian Wright fan when I was younger so I supported Arsenal. Wright and Patrick Vieira were my idols, so yeah, if the opportunity came to play for them one day I'd take it.

"But right now I'm concentrating on keeping City in the top half and we've got the players to do it."

my opinion, i would love to see richards in an arsenal shirt ASAP, then we can move sendros to striker

i think richards will be a good player for arsenal, prehaps in 3 or 4 years we will see him at the emirates, i hope so, for a player so young he has gd ability and is a gd srong deffensive player.

the only problem his english

I think he'd be a great addition however as you said he's english so they'll try and pull our pants down on the price and Wenger won't be having any of it - anyone know how long is left on his contract? We're due a nice freebie :)

I would love to see him play for us in a few years time.

However, who knows what goes on in the minds of professional footballers.......remember Babel was rumoured to be signing for us next year because he wanted to stay at Ajax, next minute he is at Liverpool :?.

(true that was probably because Liverpools offer was too good to refuse)

Sagna, Toure, Richards, Clichy..........what a back for that would be in a few years time!!! :D :?

why a few years time ? why not now (ie, jan window)?

we are rich now, and have £100m in the transfer kitty .. so, I imagine that while we go on with AW's moulding policy, we need to be able to treat ourselves to a kaka/Richards/etc now and again ..

so, wenger make sure this is not another babel !!!! 8) 8)

whats more, we are desparately in need of someone with some aerial authority in our central defence _right_NOW_ ... his cost should then not be much of a factor .. no ?

I think he would be better staying at City for now. He is playing week in week out and showing great improvement.

If we bought him in January I am not convinced he would get the same volume of regular games. But saying that he would learn alot from players like Gallas, Toure and.......senderos (only joking)

Anyway if we did buy him we would probably try and convert him to a left winger anyway

Seriously would love to see him sign but cannot ever see it happening(wenger's reluctance to spend big, citeh's reluctance to selle etc). Still we can all dream eh ? Think he has either just signed a new contract or is in contract talks at the mo

It'd be good to sign him, but as you all say, English talent does cost...

BUT with the new transfer kitty, and maybe with the board suggesting to Wenger that to buy a big name would look good for the club's ability to survive without a russian, then maybe Wenger will treat himself for once. :D

I would sign Richards as soon as possible the guy is quality.I heard a interview with him during the summer when he said the only team in England he wanted to play for was Arsenal. He is the type of player Wenger likes young and atheltic. What is the point in being the second richest olub in the world if we are not going to spend money on top class players? Micah is a Gooner

It would be a lot cheaper to buy him now, then in a few years.

Remember, that even if he is playing well, it is the older defender Richard Dunne(on his day as good as anyone) who is guiding him.

He is very good at recovering from the many mistakes he makes and good in the air but would only get him if the price was right, which it won't be. We have 4 cb's in Jan and some coming through the ranks, I certainly wouldn't pay more then 15 million for him.
