Sad git that I am, I'm mainly doing this to be in front of Rebel. But I do think there will be a lot of angst and speculation in the run up to this. Not least cos I have no idea what AW thinks is his first choice 11 or how many will be crocked by Saturday evening.
Guess at line up
Al
Sagna
Vermaelen
Gallas
Clichy (is he fit?)
Theo
Cesc
Song
AA
RvP
Bendtner
Probably wrong about 5 of those and no idea of the formation, but other than that it's looking good.
Only good thing as I have an XL package like Mutley I get the game free on ESPN HD.

But that's the point isn't it? What is the best line up. I can guarantee if we asked 100 on here they'd come up with 110 combinations.
i hope vermalen is fit as i still dont think djourou is good enough for a game like this,
still hoping wenger will surprise with a proper good proven midfielder before next weekend
Dont even want to contemplate how the result will go but with that line up I aint confident I also think that we should petition uefa to bring forward the closing date for the transfer window so that no club can buy anybody once their season starts - I know that some of ye will point out that different countries leagues have different starting dates and I am aware of that but I am trying to introduce a plan that will force wenger into doing his business before a season starts and not 4 or 5 games into it when our title bid and champs league campaigns could be over before they even start

I'm just talking about this particular game, as i have said numerous times since our interest in Vermaalen became news, he is not big enough to be playing alongside Gallas against teams that are good in the air and strong from set pieces and Everton are both.
He may get lucky in this game and we may come through unscathed but there is every chance we and he will get found out in this game by the aerial attack and thats the last thing he needs in his first real game in the premiership.
Djourou has more size and stature and is stronger in the air than both Gallas and Verm and for this game he is more suitable although not perfect to deal with the kind of threat Everton pose.
