Time to protest at the cost of watching Arsenal home.. (1/3)
usual thread starter. note that the clubs who freeze or drop their prices are those that are fialing to sell out regularly. only govt. legislation is going to force a club like arsenal habitually reaching capacity to do that. are you prepared to vote with your wallet and not attend? not buying the food and drink has to be easy enough though.
The price of a ticket now does limit the amount of matches that I attend, along with 2 JG's.
I now come prepared with cartons of drinks and snacks/sweets for my boys.
We travel from Rugby, so the overall cost of a day out could be a lot bigger if I didn't take such steps.
I have mentioned at other times, but not here, that I think the club are wrong to set up cat A and B games. The hike in price automatically means I have to omit myself from thinking about attending.
It was a shame the FA Cup tie against Blackburn wasn't a cat A game then I may not have had to endure watching such dross.

I agree that ticket prices at emirates are expensive.
I myself have a season ticket next to the red action section £895 a year.
I heard on sky sports the other day that a interview with someone at arsenal (not sure who as i missed the start of the interview) said that ticket prices at the emirates would not lower as it is a sell out every week. ok its a sell out but i think there are still loads of arsenal suports who cant afford these prices. also this cat a b stuff is a load of rubbish. i read ita few year back about spuds and cheski and thought what a stupid idea and when we started it i thought exactly the same.
i think the club level seats show wha happens when u hike pices up to what they are in the club level. Most of the people in there this season are ( as roy keane would say) prawn sandwich supports. the last 4 home games just to the right of the away supposrts there as massive section that hasnt turned up in club level. these are not the tre asenal supports. lower the prices and u might get all true arsenal supports in club level and the rest of the stadium.
rant over
come on u gunners

Prices!
I'm getting very worried about price increases for us next season.I'm sure i heard somewhere a while back that we are raising prices next season. When i picked my season ticket up for this season was a choice of upper or lower, with a difference of around £300+ , i went with an upper ticket behind the north bank goal as the view is unreal. I knew it was really past my limit but hey,the thought of an increase on this is filling me with dread & i know of a lot of others too,Ok i know i can always choose to sit downstairs. But Arsenal know if i drop out someone will come along off the waiting list who can afford & snap it up.But we have now well reached the limit, somehow we as fans need to organise some sort of demo against prices in the faces of our directors.I know the Sun newspaer has an on going feature going at present , we need them to shame our club on prices. Hey Arsenal, why not when you get the big TV money coming our way next season, instead of putting in to players pockets how about passing down to our costs?Yeah right!
Going onto Club Level again i heard that the revenue from the 7000 odd seats is the equivalent of selling out Highbury of 38000.Do you know if you read the small print on the Club Level season ticket contract, the Club Level is an NEUTRAL area NOT an home fans only area.

Don't know what answer is but if we are going to compete with ManUre and Chakski then Arsenal need money - from Emirates Airlines, Club Level....and us, the punters! Most we can hope for next season is price freeze - but thats unlikely as we already had one this year. Maybe next season the "must visit the new ground" bubble will burst and attendances will start to fall? Otherwise, expect more of the same. Sad thing is that I was almost relieved we lost at Blackburn, as I was worried where I'd get the money to pay for the Man City game as PSV is the last cup match on season ticket! Consolation is that my nephew is Spuds season ticket holder, and he pays more than I do to see that bunch of shite....

I've been happy in the past to pay £40 a time to watch Henry, Bergkamp and Pires etc but 40p would have been too much for Wednesday's poor showing. However, we must expect poor displays occasionally and that's another subject.
In an ideal world the TV revenue will ultimately be so productive that the clubs will have to pay fans to attend to get the TV atmosphere (we can spot the unreal crowd noises, however they try to manipulate them).
It's not as far fetched as it sounds; if you think about it a TV game (especially one featuring the most attractive team in the world at present) might generate a worldwide audience of 100 million plus. Allowing for poorer nations, even if subscribers paid the equivalent of 25p each per game it would dwarf gate revenue.
In the meantime clubs can cut prices - and already are doing but so far only the ones no one wants to watch anyway! Surely the organisational side of restructuring how we pay for football is not beyond some financial genius?
