As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
No local connection, not even a Londoner (Essex boy) but as a teenager I deliberatley made my accent more "London" coz of my suport for Arsenal and on away trips in the 70s, 80s and probably (sadly) still to this day was quite happy to let assorted norveners fink I was a "cockney bastard"
ALTHOUGH UP AND ABOUT, I'M NOT NORMALLY ON-LINE THIS LATE BUT ON A FRIDAY EVENING/SATURDAY MORNING, I LISTEN TO A PROGRAMME ON BBCRADIO5LIVE CALLED 'THE WORLD FOOTBALL SHOW' WHICH GOES ON UNTIL 4.00AM.
I GENERALLY DON'T GO TO BED UNTIL 3.00ish EVERY NIGHT AS I HAVE ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE SLEEPING. EVEN THEN IT TAKES AROUND AN HOUR AT LEAST - AND COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF SKUNK - TO GET ME ASLEEP!
IN FACT, THE REASON I STARTED 'SMOKING' IN MY EARLY TEENS WAS THAT I FOUND WEED HELPED ME TO GET ASLEEP QUICKER. IT HAD THE SAME EFFECT AS ALCOHOL BUT WITHOUT THE SICK FEELING AND MORNING HANGOVER!! ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN SMOKING SUCH A LONG TIME THAT NOWADAYS I USUALLY NEED BOTH TO REALLY GET THE JOB DONE!
Born and bred in North Wales and have lived here all my life.My dad took me to see Arsenal play Man Utd in 1967 at Old Trafford. All I remember about the game is we lost 1-0 and Ian Ure and Denis Law were sent off.Ive been a Gooner ever since.I even made sure my daughter was bought up a Gooner. The first game I took her to is when we lost to Wrexham, she was 6 at the time

Yeah I was there too. At least your daughter was only 6
You know what the problem was with that day - too many British players who don't know the tradition of the FA Cup
The worst thing (apart from last minute defeat) about it was the fact that I was on an official supporters club coach (shudders) for one of only 2 times. Fun, fun, fun...
Born in N17. (I Know, I should have been a spud!!!) Family moved to North Essex when I was 1yo. Have lived there ever since. My entire family are spuds except me. I'm the black sheep with a bit of taste.
