As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Today, because I had time to kill, I bought the Guardian, the Mail and the Mirror.
I was looking forward to the sports journos to, just for once, give our team an unreserved glowing report on our magnificent win at Everton.
NO FUCKING CHANCE!!!!
The *word censored* focused on Everton's weakness (this is the team who were close to fourth spot last season) and Lescott's lack of effort (?).
However, Man Utd's superb victory over the mighty Birmingham received glowing reports. And suggested that Rooney is the best player in the world. Ever. And that Ladyboy would therefor not be missed.
They are *word censored* of the highest order. Manc-loving sycophants.
Yeah I'm trying to give up reading the papers (though I always have to have a quick glimpse in case a star signing is imminent!)
But lets face it a club in 'crisis', in this case Everton over this Lescott business, is more of a story to the journos than a great performance from a side already written off.
All I've heard since the weekend is consistently spoken shite about Lescott and how it caused their spineless capitulation. We had to put up with Ade being a far bigger mercenary wanker than Lescott last year and don't remember too many five goal reverses.
And what exactly was Lescott supposed to do about Denilson's 25 yarder, Fabregas walking through their non-existent midfield and Leighton Baines making Bendtner look like Liam Brady.

It's always the same Olgit - And especially these days the media always home in on a Negative rather than a Positive....The media (whether sports or any other arena of life, society etc) ALWAYS go for the Negative stories rather than any Positives... and are a major part of the reason for the gr4adual erosion of our culrures and society.....they weild HUGE Power, Power granted to them by the politicians ...and now we the collective....so Burn the feckers at the satke I say....well except the the caretoons section - I like Garfield...so leave his creator/writer out of the equation
The majority of the newspapers and journo's are a BUNCH OF CRUNTS and should all be burned at the stake - think of the number of tree's that could be saved

Always the same mate, like most people have already said a negative story is a better seller than a positive one simply as that, TV are the same MOTD gave us 30seconds praise before pointing the finger at Lescott and everton.
As long as we know that boys were top notch and simply wanted it more than they did is good enough for me dont need some over paid moron who half the time dont even put a picture next to a name thats probaly made up to tell me how good or bad we were.

Agreed 100%. But just on a point of order, what will the stakes be made of if not basically what used to be trees...?
