Am i the only person who finds the following bit of text perplexing/worrying?

"It was somewhat mystifying that the Spaniard should shower and change afterwards in approximately 60 seconds and wait for the team bus with a face like thunder."

Its from this article, and has a pretty positive tone to it; but that bit just seems totaly out of place, unless he's trying to suggest something?

Cesc is focused this year and seem determined to do everything he can to win a trophy this year. I think he wants his performances to set an example for everyone as he is not the vocal type.

nice little clip that actualy

I guess the bit that worried me about it was that compared to the usual tripe in relation to cesc, it was comparativley subtle. Well, at least compared to goal.com and its crack team of barcelona and madrid hacks/lackeys/croneys/press officers!

Seriously though, I can't help think that trying to work out why a 22 year old lad is unhappy, is a bit pointless! - maybe it was because Celtic tried to kick him off the park? or maybe his girlfriend had dumped him for Tom Huddlestone? or maybe his cock has been itchnig all week, and Lewin has told him it's an STD? Who knows! and, I'll be honest, I don't even care!

Arsenal join Everton on trail of Toon star

EVERTON remain in the hunt for Steven Taylor after watching the Newcastle United defender in action against Sheffield Wednesday.

And, intriguingly, Arsenal, long-time admirers of Taylor, were also represented at St James's Park last night.

Everton, fearful of losing Joleon Lescott to Manchester City, made an enquiry about the 23-year-old last week, but stopped short of tabling a firm bid for the Â£10m-rated player.

However, with Lescott kicked out of David Moyes's squad for tonight's Europa League tie against SK Sigma Olomouc, they are making contingency plans.

Moyes yesterday said Lescott â€“ who has had a transfer request turned down â€“ had "let himself down" with his attitude in training, and could finally sanction a deal â€“ if the price is right.

Should Lescott join Man City, then he will most likely move for Taylor, who put in another strong performance against Wednesday in United's 1-0 Championship win.

Newcastle's caretaker boss Chris Hughton, however, is "hopeful" of holding on to Taylor, though he knows owner Mike Ashley could cash in should he fail to sell the club.

Hughton told the Gazette: "What we're hopeful for is that by the end of the transfer window we'll have a squad which can at least compete at the right end of the table.

"It would be nice if we didn't lose any more players before the window closes, and if that didn't happen I'd be delighted."

Meanwhile, United were today linked with a move for Sheffield United's Matthew Kilgannon should they lose Taylor.

Real Madrid playmaker Rafael van der Vaart is the subject of interest from Liverpool and Arsenal as his Real Madrid career looks to end.

West Ham set to agree Â£6m fee for Marouane Chamakh as the striker calls Julien Faubert for inside track on Upton Park

Bordeaux are ready to accept a Â£6million bid from West Ham United for Marouane Chamakh - the same amount offered by Arsenal just a month ago.
The French champions have capitulated after failing to spark a bidding war and are on the verge of striking a deal that would see their 25-year-old leave for less than half the Â£15m asking price quoted to the Gunners.
However, Chamakh could yet reject the move despite agitating for a move to England all summer.

He has concerns that Upton Park may not be the right place for him and has called his former Bordeaux team-mate Julien Faubert for advice.

Chamakh is likely to play for Bordeaux against Nice on Sunday before travelling to West Ham on Monday to meet Gianfranco Zola.
But his representatives will try to establish the chances of Arsenal coming in for him next summer, when he would be a free agent, or even renewing their interest now, given the lower asking price.
Fulham may also re-enter the race after having Andrew Johnson ruled out for up to eight weeks with an injured collarbone.
West Ham are prepared to pay Â£6m up front, plus add-ons and a cut of any future transfer fee they receive.

Earlier this summer, the manager expressed an interest in the Norwegian captain but did not make an offer to Fulham for his services.

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has ruled out the possibility of him securing a move to West Ham. does this mean he will come next season on a free to us ???

The pompey goal yesterday proved we still need someone 'nasty' at the back to get up there for the crosses and get stuck into the opposition....Vermaelen looks like being an excellent signing, but he cannot do it all on his own....also after what AW has said about Diaby after the Pompey game totally puts an end to an rumours of PV4 coming back

Abou is a more offensive player but if he decides to play defensively he is exactly like Vieira. At some stage when Gallas moved out I put Denilson centre back and put Diaby central midfield in a defensive role. And he looks completely similar to Patrick to win the ball back. But he is a guy who has a quick transition from defence to offence, from box to box, that is his fantastic strength, to change quickly. Nobody can go with him when he has that, when we are on the counter-attack. He is fantastic."

Diaby is good, but blows hot & cold and as much as I wish he was another PV4 - He will Never be that!
