I'm not sure if anyone else has commented on this elsewhere but the Sun were running a big piece on Eduardo's cheating today and comparing it to other incidents where UEFA have used trial by TV.

2 of the comparisons ?

Totti and Mijhavolic spitting at opponents. Oh yeah, I can see the similarity....FFS !!

Once the media get a stick to beat the Arse with they won't stop until they get the next big story, lets see Arsene create a siege mentality for the manure game and use this bias to our advantage, and thus give them their next big story, A gunners victory at OT.

UEFA have put themselves straight into the spotlight. Players like Ronaldo, Gerrard, Rooney, Owen, Babel, Drogba and countless others are all playing for teams in the CL. THis situation could get out of hand if 'divers' are not punished accordingly, more so if the player in question is a serial diver. It's going to be an interesting season and an interesting CL tournament now. like walking on egg shells :banghead:

Wonder if UEFA keep a close eye on madrid's group games considering the number 1 diver playing for them now and see if pratini applies the same rule???

Diving is cheating BUT doesn't warrant a ban if in game play it's only a yellow card, and as already stated where do you draw the line at deceiving the ref??it's a fine line UEFA are walking and there continue there MUST do it to everyone that includes AC Milan(involved in bribing and match fixing but still got to play in C/L while the others involved were banned )madrid etc no favourites.

The media's reaction has angered me most and the childish behaviour of the SFA(mickey mouse league). The total 2-faceness of both parties has only convinced me more that there is a anti-ARSENAL feeling!!and UEFA have a anti-english feeling.Uefa seem to be on a crusade against english teams as premier league seem to dominate european football and are trying any means possible to hinder all english clubs especially in C/L .

GG used to do this brilliantly in the late 80s / early 90s. When TA6 got stitched up by the wired-up referee at Millwall, the brawl at OT with the 2 point deduction. He used to fire the lads up and then watch them stroll off with the title. Happy days......come on Arsene...get those press cuttings pinned to the wall.

Arsene said he will be complaining about any wrong decision given against us by a referee now they have "opened a door". Now we can finally ask for some bannings from every other twat in a manure shirt who's tried to do a length of the football pitch. Ronaldo, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick, Ronaldo

You're right Boomer, he mentions just this in the Mirror...

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ed ... 34255.html

UEFA president Michael Platini last night admitted he would have cheated like Arsenal striker Eduardo - and said that is why something has to be done to stamp it out.

The former French skipper and World Cup coach will back the likely two-match ban faced by the Gunners' frontman for his blatant dive against Celtic.

But Platini revealed his own murky past on the issue and said that showed exactly why his plan for two extra officials behind the goals was the only way to change the dive culture.

Platini, in the Juventus side that beat Liverpool in the 1985 Heysel Final, said: “I know why players do it - because I’ve dived myself.

“I did it because I knew the referee wouldn’t see me trying it on and also because there were no cameras either. If we thought we could get away with it, we would.â€

It wasn't before my time and all I can say is that whilst he was a great player, he liked the odd dive and was part of one of the most cynical Juventus sides to walk the planet

Good! I prefer it when no-one like us.
Just had a debate in the pub at lunch about this 'current' Arsenal. Surprisingly it was me Vs another Arsenal fan. The Scouser and Sp*ds fan chipped in but not in a wind up way as they normally would.

Also this is the same cuntslop Platini who abused Wenger last year for wanting to introduce video evidence. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 817629.ece

I dont mind everyone hating us, or Eduardo being punished, but the hypocrisy that surrounds the treatment of Arsenal by UEFA and the media is astounding.

Ironic that the Millwall/West Ham debacle has been brushed under the carpet. Anyone think this is being used to divert attention away from that and save England's world cup bid?

I've got this nagging doubt in my mind that the clubs have agreed they will not take legal action against UEFA no matter what. Probably dreamt it like a lot of things.

Agree that Eduardo should be punished (a caution as that is what he would have got in the game) but then every other f*cker must be. I personally hope this is the beginning of a major crackdown, but like most people above I am very cynical and think this will be revealed for the sham it is the first time Ronaldo dives. :banghead: :banghead:

augie wrote:Watch and see how long it will take the refs in engerland to screw us with a dodgy penalty decision now  There is no doubt that most level headed people will look at the dive by eduardo and be rightly disgusted with it but referee's are a different breed of c**ts altogether and have a real opportunity to exact revenge

Where I do believe that wenger is wrong though is that he is now saying that he has conclusive proof that there was contact between the keeper plus eduardo is maybe pulling out of tackles as a result of the thug tackle he suffered v brummies. Firstly if there was contact it was eduardo that instigated it but secondly he should in no way use that disgraceful incident as a defense for what eduardo did and I would call that embarrassing to say the least.

The very fact that this story still has legs is down to your media outlets in engerland who keep this story alive by keeping it in the public eye. Sky in particular are in a position of great influence and like most organisations in similar positions they are quite prone to abusing that power. The double standards at play here is, in my opinion at least, as much down to sky as it is uefa but their selective coverage of these incidents. As has been said already pulling a players jersey on a referee's blind side must surely be treated with the same contempt now cos again it is deceiving the ref but highlighting instances like that wont do anything for sky. If that dive occured on the halfway line wed night would it gotten the same amount of coverage ? I fcuking doubt it but yet the crime is the very same

Hold the page, I agree with that Augie!
