Breaking News....Eduardo charged
just the whole attitude to other clubs doing it has always been different
in the game we lost the unbeaten run when rooney dived its ..Rooney earned a penalty after a foul by Campbell.

and the game the previous season when pires dived against portsmouth home is..Dejan Stevanovic's attempt to tackle Robert Pires was clumsy but there looked barely enough contact as the Frenchman crashed to the ground.

Astonishing press conference from Wenger. Bristling with anger. On this showing, we are definitely going to win the league. He is as focused and committed and passionate as I have seen.. Excellent stuff. (Of course, the insane, orange-faced Hull City manager has in the past, been spitting with anger too, but the difference is Arsene speaks absolute sense and with the utmost clarity.) Further reasons to be proud to be an Arsenal supporter.

arsene wenger is god. from his interview:
"how many times have i come out for the video [technology to help the referees]??? UEFA refuses the video, but use it to charge our player! So where is the logic???"
i never saw the man so angry. i loved his words, and i'm impressed he came out and threw the shit at the ventilator like that.
i usually do not hope for people to die, but i'd throw a party here in brazil like an early carnaval (and i'd invite all of you forum mates)if platini's head exploded tomorrow.

A staggering decision
Stunned by Eduardo charge but looking forward to Man U v Arsenal

I am staggered by the UEFA decision to charge Arsenal striker Eduardo for 'deceiving the referee'.
It was a very strange ruling and especially considering it was for something that was unclear.
For all we know Eduardo might have been touched by the keeper - and in the laws of the game you don't have to be hammered, there only has to be the intent to tackle for a foul to be awarded - or he may just have been trying to protect his leg he injured last year.
Eduardo: scores controversial penalty
Eduardo: scores controversial penalty
In the modern game it is so difficult to decide if it is a dive - footballers travel at such a pace it only takes the slightest nudge to put them off balance. It is a really strange one for me.
It has also opened a massive can of worms. It encourages people to complain about and contest every decision. For instance, when a guy claims for a corner when he knows it isn't a corner - that's trying to deceive the referee, isn't it?
All the Bristol City players who said Freddie Sears' 'goal' for Crystal Palace didn't go in were deceiving the referee - do we go back and charge all of them?
Arsene Wenger thought Ryan Babel went over softly in the Champions League two seasons ago to win a penalty late on - do we go that far back? Should Babel be retrospectively charged?
I saw Howard Webb book a young Fiorentina player in midweek for trying to win a penalty. I actually thought it was a penalty but he was shown a yellow card for simulation - so Eduardo does the same and could get a two game ban? Was the Fiorentina player not deceiving Howard Webb by diving?
All I can say is let's hope if we see a Barcelona, Real Madrid or Milan player do a similar thing this season UEFA are as quick to react as they were with Eduardo. It's not for me to say but their dislike of the English sides' dominance is well documented.

I really miss the old days when everybody hated us, when we knew that it was us against the world and it was us that would triumph
Longing for those days with the siege mentality is natural but those days are gone and the team we had are gone with them. In my opinion you cant just put a siege mentality onto any type of player and expect them to carry it cos some players will thrive under it while others may well buckle under it. I would suggest that cos we have such a young team we have more of the latter type of players in our team and if so it will be unreasonable to expect them to stand up against the world. It takes a very strong individual to do what TA6, Bouldie, Nutty, Romford Pele and PV4 did on a regular basis cos you knew that every time you stepped onto a pitch you were probably going to have to defeat the opposition team, the opposition fans and more often than not the match officials if you were going to win the match but more often than not these lads did exactly that. To be fair to the current crop they have grown up with our club being admired all over the world cos of our silky football etc and it would be a huge shock to these players to all of a sudden be hated. If I am honest I could probably think of half a dozen players that might thrive under this seige mentality backdrop while others may fold so while from a fans point of view I would love it if the world starting hating us again I am not sure it would help our players

I certaintly know where you're coming from Augie, but let's face it, since being, mostly, everyone's favourite 2nd team, what have we won?
I think anything that can put another edge to our game will be for the good, and, it's up to the likes of say Gallas, Vermalen, Sagna, Fabregas to spread this, so called, 'siege mentality' to the other, perhaps, more faint hearted members of the team/squad.
