I wonder, are they going to even discuss the possibility that shrek dived?

United didn't win the game, we lost it.
Was you watching that game mate?

Apart from the OG Diaby played well.
were you watching the game? i saw diaby give the ball away time and time again. and when he finally broke through he bungled the shot. he didnt play poorly but dont come with the played well opinion. patrick viera he is not.
Well the whole team must have played terribly shit then, because he was one of the best players in my opinion.

Every player in our midfield were caught on the ball a couple of times, but I thought that we dominated the midfield battle. Only when Manure got 2 giveaway goals did their midfield play with a bit more composure.

I don't blame the ref or anyone else for that result other than Almunia, for both goals he could have done much better.

The thing that kills me, is that he came out for almost every fucking ball in our area, but the one he chose not to come for results in an own goal!!

I thought that for 80 minutes tonight denilson was 2nd only to gallas for our man of the match. However what I am saying is that in the 2nd half song was nowhere near the action - he didnt get near closing them down, he didnt win tackles and didnt intercept fcuk all either  The position of DM is fundemental in big games like this why we are fighting to control the tempo and in the 1st half we did this and song looked good but in the 2nd half when we needed him to take control he was missing
to give song credit (going to wash mouth out with soap!!) there were quite a few occasions in both halves that i was berating song for not going to player with ball to challenge him, only for 2seconds later he stuck a leg out and intercepted pass. now he's finally decided to put some effort in i do think he's consistently earning his place in team

Gunnerz4life I totally agree with you re arshavin being wasted on the wing and it is a drum that I have been beating for some time now too. He isnt playing well either but what worries me is that he looks disinterested out there too :(

Wasn't Arshavin playing wide left? The right wing is the abode of our beloved Ivorian.

Still, he shouldn't be out there.

I'd prefer RVP out on the right, Arshavin through the centre, and Eboue Left-Right-Out.

Yeah thanks for that Ram, got my sides f*cked up :D . And Arshavin's reaction kinda concerns me too sometimes. He seems looks almost bored at times, making early passes when he could easily run at defenders. I have a bad feeling that if we dont win anything this season, he might leave.

Siege mentality it is then.

So pissed off right now, but just wanted to raise a few points with everyone that may or may not have been covered in this thread. (Can’t be agged to trawl through loads of pages)

But anyway, here goes:

1. I’ve been saying for at least a couple of seasons now that we should get rid of Almunia, and although Rooney the fat C unt was very clever in going down, that circus geezer that we have in goal basically put it on a plate for him. It’s almost like a robber coming into your room and finding a bag which says “all valuables are in hereâ€

i guess this means arshavin will be out with some hamstring related problem looking at the way he came off.

I know i will have quite a lot of people disagreeing with me over this but I fail to understand why we would play Eboue as a attacking midfielder and not Wilshere. Or when Arshavin went out injured, why not bring on Wilshere rather than Ramsey (not offence to the kid, just Wilshere has more of a spark about him).

And I agree with Augie about Diaby. Some of the things he does is simply fantastic but he doesnt come across as the smartest of players and doesnt seem to have a good footballing brain. The problem with that is, im not sure if that can be taught, you either have it or you dont.

All summer fans have been calling out for a CH and a DM but what i have always said as well as these we need a 20 league goal plus goalscorer.RVP and Bendtner just wont get the goals they are just not clinical enough. The day we let a proven goalscorer in Huntelaar go without even bidding for him will come back to haunt us.He would only have cost 17 fucking million

Almunia has never been good enough to play for a top 4 team :banghead:

And how the fuck does a back up full back(and not a good one at that) get a starting place at Old Trafford.Wenger really is Eboue's father :banghead: Yes maybe play him v Celtic at home but at Old Trafford Never

This was the worst Man Utd team in living memory yet they still beat us.

Sort if out Wenger and get spending in the next 48 hours

This game has highlighted our weaknesses and if Wenger does not see this now then he never will.

Yes we were in total control of the game, RVP probably should have scored to kill the game at 2-0. But we have lost not because United overwhelmed us with constant pressure or carved us open with great play but because we make do with players who will never be good enough at the top, top level.

Having made good progess last season Almunia seems to have returned to his bad old ways; dozing for Portsmouth's goal last week and now handing the initiative to United.

Diaby was Diaby; some good flashes instantly undone by shiteness in a split second. That was one of the worst own goals I've ever seen but in hindsight totally to be expected by somebody who always looks like he's half asleep.

That was today's Arsenal; the ability to play good football but with a lack of killer instinct, a lack of mental strength (witness how we offered nothing after we went 2-1 down) and too much reliance on players who are squad player-quality at best.

The one hope is that this finally causes Wenger to realise this and invest on just a couple of top quality players. Sadly I doubt this would happen.

All in all, I personally think that the squad is shaping well. In all honesty, we have players with great quality, it's just that we tend to get unlucky at times and this is one of those instances. (Freakin' sore, still am...)

If you look at last season, our players were far from sublime, our defense was in shambles and we were left dry in attacking options thanks to a slightly poor defensive midfield line up.

Now, our players have great work rate, we're fighting for every bit of the ball and we give no quarter to our opponents, home or away. Eboue have definitely matured (except for the poor, poor dive today; absolutely dubious) and is playing much better, Bendtner actually works for the ball now; can still improve in a few areas like passing and ball control but a lot better nonetheless, Song can hold onto the ball quite well, Gallas is superb now in holding defense as in compared to his overly emotional, expressive self last season, etc...

Le boss is the one who will ultimately call the shots in transfers, but if he doesn't buy, I won't completely hate him for it, but I too certainly would vouch for a player or two in our transfers list. If he doesn't make transfers, then we must have faith in our squad, as I believe that the strength of our team also comes from the good vibes from fans. I'd say the squad is a winning squad; ultimately, and personally, I think it's the overall temperament that could do with a little work.

Note: I'm not a rosetinter.
