Celtic player sent off for diving
This happened during today's game at Hibernian. From BBC:
"In the 63rd minute, McGeady was issued his second yellow and sent in for an early bath following a challenge from Hanlon.
Referee Dougie McDonald decided that no contact had been made and the Republic of Ireland international was dismissed for simulation."
I sincerely hope that the SFA will be contacting UEFA to complain, and that the media will treat this exactly the same way as the Eduardo case.
Shame on Celtic too. Acting all high and mighty in the week, and then show their true colours by doing the same themselves in their very next match.

i bet you, this wont even make the main stream media!!!
I cant wait for a big decision to go against us or the other big teams in a european game, then we will see how everyone reacts and if whatever manager it is will chanlenge the decision!!!
Why do they hate english football so much??? platini and blatter and ufea??

"this is about the image of football.
"We only look at matters of a serious nature that the referee did not see. The regulations allow for this type of action but they are only used sparingly.
"It's all about the severity of the alleged deception. This is nothing new.
In other words, don't expect Ashley Young or McGeady to be banned, or anyone else other than Eduardo for that matter
because this type of action will only be used sparingly when UEFA deem it to reflect badly on the image of football.
So, this has been a trial by media, and even though Eduardo's dive was nothing new, the attention caused by the media and the Scottish FA has brought it to UEFA's attention.
It's utter bollocks, really... and certainly not about justice. If the media and Arsenal had kicked up a similar fuss when Rooney dived against us, or Babel, maybe UEFA would have looked at it, but as we didn't and as the press chose to turn a blind eye, it's Eduardo who gets punished and not crunts like Robben, Van Nistelrooy, Gerrard, Drogba, Ronaldo or any of the other serial divers.

I doubt the club will take this lying down though and will present a case to get this brushed under the carpet.g88ner wrote:UEFA have no inention to look at every dive, or ban every cheat...
